METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING ADHESIVE TAPE
A method of making adhesive tape has the steps of advancing a substrate band longitudinally in a machine direction from a supply to an array of laser units, cutting the band longitudinally with the laser units into a plurality of longitudinal strips, and then cutting each of the longitudinal strips longitudinally into a plurality of tapes. An adhesive is applied to a face of each of the tapes, and the tapes are wound up individually.
LASER PROCESSING DEVICE
A laser processing device includes a conveyance device, a laser irradiating unit, a controller, and a guide. The conveyance device conveys a strip electrode in a conveyance direction. The laser irradiating unit irradiates the strip electrode with a laser beam. The laser irradiating unit is configured to change the irradiating direction of the laser beam. The controller controls the laser irradiating unit so as to cut the strip electrode into a tab shape by causing the laser beam to move along a predetermined path on the strip electrode. The guide holds the strip electrode. The guide includes a notch. The notch has a shape that follows at least a portion of the predetermined path.
Apparatus, systems and methods for the production of electrodes for use in batteries
A process for delineating a population of electrode structures in a web includes laser ablating the web to form ablations in the web, each ablation being formed by removing a portion of an electrochemically active layer to thereby expose a portion of an electrically conductive layer. The process includes forming alignment features in the web that are formed at predetermined locations on the web. The process also includes laser machining the web to form weakened tear patterns in the web that delineate members of the electrode structure population, each of the delineated members being individually bounded, at least in part, by a member of the weakened tear patterns that is adapted to facilitate separation of delineated members, individually, from the web by an application of a force, the alignment features being used to aid in the formation of the weakened tear patterns.

LINEAR GROOVE FORMATION METHOD AND LINEAR GROOVE FORMING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GRAIN-ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET
The linear groove formation method includes a resist forming process of forming a coated resist on a surface of a steel sheet, a laser irradiating process of irradiating laser beams onto the steel sheet while repeating a laser scanning in a direction intersecting a rolling direction of the steel sheet cyclically in the rolling direction of the steel sheet to remove the coated resist in portions irradiated with the laser beams, and an etching process of forming linear grooves by etching portions of the steel sheet from which the coated resist is removed. In the laser irradiating process, the coated resist is removed by using two or more laser irradiating devices, with a certain irradiation energy, a certain beam diameter in a direction perpendicular to a laser scanning direction, and a certain incidence angle with respect to the surface of the steel sheet.
WELDING MACHINE
Welding machine (1) comprising a resting plane (P) configured to support respectively a tail portion and a head portion of two metal sheets to be joined. The metal sheets are slidable along an advancement direction (A). The welding machine (1) also comprises sheet-metal pressing means (2) configured to lock in a set position the head and tail portions on the resting plane (P) and a plurality of welding torches (3) configured to join respective edges of the tail and head portions. The welding torches (3) are slidably movable along a transverse direction (B) to the advancement direction (A). The welding machine (1) is characterized in that it also comprises a plurality of grounding contacts (4) that is each electrically associated with a respective welding torch (3) and movable solidly constrained to the respective welding torch (3) along the transverse direction (B).
Method and device for producing a continuous strip-shaped composite material
A method and a device for producing a continuous strip-shaped composite material. The device has at least one first casting machine, using which a continuous strand is produced, in particular from steel, at least one rolling stand, which is arranged in line with the first casting machine and downstream thereof. A fully solidified slab of the strand produced using the first casting machine can be hot rolled, and at least one second casting machine, using which a further continuous strand is produced from metal. Between the casting machines, on the one hand, and the rolling stand, on the other hand, a merging unit is arranged, by means of which the slabs can be moved in the direction toward each other in the hot state. The rolling stand is designed as a roll-cladding unit, by which a composite formed from the merged slabs can be hot rolled.
EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SEPARATOR FOR FUEL CELL
Equipment for manufacturing a separator plate for a fuel cell comprises: a press which receives a conveyed first metal strip and second metal strip, vertically arranges the metal strips side by side, and forms patterns on each of the first metal strip and the second metal strip; a welding machine which overlaps the first metal strip and the second metal strip conveyed from the press, and integrally joins the metal strips by welding same in a state in which the patterns are aligned face-to-face with each other; and guide rolls which are arranged in front of and behind the press and guide the first metal strip so that the first metal strip is supplied to the welding machine at an overlapping position with the second metal strip after passing through the press at a position spaced vertically apart from the second metal strip.
