A welding fixture includes a flexible substrate, which is sufficiently flexible to be reconfigurable between a planar configuration and a folded or rolled compact configuration and is dimensioned to support a plurality of frame members to form a structural frame for a recreational vehicle (RV). The welding fixture further includes a plurality of guide surfaces mounted to the flexible substrate, which are arranged on the flexible substrate to align the frame members in a predefined arrangement with a plurality of weld points and to align the frame members in the predefined arrangement while being welded together at the weld points.

Spacer grid welding fixture

A spacer grid welding fixture comprises a frame sized to receive an assembled spacer grid comprising a first set of parallel straps and a second set of parallel straps oriented orthogonally to the first set of parallel straps, the first and second sets of parallel straps interlocked together by slots cut into the straps. A first set of grid engagement bars is placed on a first side of the spacer grid with each grid engagement bar arranged parallel with the straps of the first set of parallel straps and engaging the straps of the second set of parallel straps. A second set of grid engagement bars is placed on an opposite second side of the spacer grid with each grid engagement bar arranged parallel with the straps of the second set of parallel straps and engaging the straps of the first set of parallel straps.

Friction stir welding flash and burr control

Some examples include welding a first workpiece to a second workpiece. For instance, the first workpiece may be secured adjacent to the second workpiece. At least one of the first workpiece or the second workpiece includes a channel or a portion of a channel in a respective surface such that a complete channel is presented when the first workpiece and the second workpiece are secured adjacent to each other. A rotating tip of a welding tool is inserted into the complete channel for welding the first workpiece to the second workpiece. A surface burr resulting from the welding is located within the complete channel.

Vehicle battery case

A vehicle battery case is provided. The battery case includes a lower panel and at least one transverse member that is disposed on the lower panel to increase transverse rigidity. Additionally, at least one longitudinal member is disposed on the lower panel to increase longitudinal rigidity, and a sidewall member is attached to an upper surface of the lower panel along a rim of the lower panel.

A method for erecting or assembling a frame includes the steps of: forming a joint with at least two frame members placed at an angle to one another, each frame members is a metal tube, no coping nor fittings are used to form the joint; welding the frame members together at the joint; wrapping the joint with a saddle, the saddle is a bent flat metal member with at least one hole overlaying each frame member; and fastening the saddle to each frame member by inserting a screw through each hole.

BATTERY CARRIER WITH A PERIPHERAL FRAME AND ADHESIVE GAP SET IN A DEFINED MANNER

Battery carrier for an electric motor vehicle, having a trough formed by a base and a peripheral frame coupled to the base, wherein the frame is formed from extruded hollow profiles and a cover is arranged on the frame. In the installation position, the frame has a web protruding in each case in relation to its upper side and/or lower side in such a manner that a defined gap with respect to the base and/or with respect to the cover is produced, with a sealant and/or adhesive being incorporated.

Multi-Functional Ingester System For Additive Manufacturing

A method and an apparatus for collecting powder samples in real-time in powder bed fusion additive manufacturing may involves an ingester system for in-process collection and characterizations of powder samples. The collection may be performed periodically and uses the results of characterizations for adjustments in the powder bed fusion process. The ingester system of the present disclosure is capable of packaging powder samples collected in real-time into storage containers serving a multitude purposes of audit, process adjustments or actions.
