To reduce installation effort, the focusing device focuses the first and second laser radiations through a common beam path and a coupling device is connected on its input side to the first and second radiation guides and on its output side to the focusing device. The coupling device couples the first and second laser radiations into the common beam path.

Clad welded pipe or tube and method of producing same

Provided is a clad welded pipe or tube that has improved pipe or tube mechanical properties by reducing the width of a weld without its function as a clad pipe or tube being impaired. A clad welded pipe or tube comprises: a first layer made of base metal; and a second layer placed on one surface of the first layer, and made of first cladding metal that is a material different from the base metal, wherein a pipe or tube circumferential length L1 of weld metal at a pipe or tube inner surface and a pipe or tube circumferential length L2 of the weld metal at a pipe or tube outer surface in a weld are each 0.0010 mm or more and 1.0 mm or less, and the base metal is not exposed at a first cladding metal-side surface of the clad welded pipe or tube in the weld.

A system may include a powder source; a powder delivery device; an energy delivery device; and a computing device. The computing device may be configured to: control the powder source to deliver metal powder to the powder delivery device; control the powder delivery device to deliver the metal powder to a surface of an abrasive coating; and control the energy delivery device to deliver energy to at least one of the abrasive coating or the metal powder to cause the metal powder to be joined to the abrasive coating.

CUTTING DEVICE AND CUTTING METHOD

A cutting device includes: a conveyance unit that conveys a continuous body of a plurality of electrode plates; a laser scanning unit that scans the continuous body with laser light; and a control unit that controls the laser scanning unit. The control unit controls a laser scanning unit so as to scan the continuous body while performing intermit irradiation with laser light, thereby forming a plurality of unit cutting sections that are continuous and dividing the continuous body into a first portion and a second portion. The unit cutting sections have a main line section extending along the boundary of the first portion and the second portion, and a bent section that bends and extends from an end of the main line section.

Example illustrations are directed to methods and apparatuses comprising battery cells having weld joints. In an example method, a laser is moved to a shoulder of a battery cell. The method may further include micro welding with the laser a first line segment on the shoulder of the battery cell and moving the laser a distance on the shoulder of the battery cell. The method may also comprise micro welding with the laser a second line segment on the shoulder of the battery cell in response to moving the laser the distance. Example battery cell assemblies, e.g., for a battery pack, may have a battery cell and a weld joint on a shoulder of the battery cell. The weld joint may include a first micro weld line segment and a second micro weld line segment separated by a distance.

RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING METHOD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING RESISTANCE SPOT WELD JOINT
20220339731 · 2022-10-27 · ·

A resistance spot welding method is disclosed for joining two or more steel sheets including at least one steel sheet having a tensile strength of 980 MPa or higher. The resistance spot welding method involves placing the steel sheets on top of each other to form a set of steel sheets to be welded, clamping the set of steel sheets with a pair of electrodes, and passing a current through the steel sheets while applying pressure thereto to join the steel sheets together. The resistance spot welding method includes an initial welding step of welding by passing a current I1 (kA) satisfying 2×√F1<I1≤10×√F1 while applying a welding force F1 (kN) satisfying 0.2×√t1<F1≤4×√t1, and a main welding step of forming a nugget having a predetermined nugget diameter. Spatter is produced in the initial welding step.

Welded advanced high strength steel

This disclosure relates to weldability of steel alloys that provide weld joints which retain hardness values in a heat affected zone adjacent to a fusion zone and which also have improved resistance to liquid metal embrittlement due to the presence of zinc coatings.

HIGH-STRENGTH SOLDER-PLATED AL-MG-SI ALUMINUM MATERIAL
20230078028 · 2023-03-16 · ·

The present disclosure provides an aluminium material for the manufacture of high-strength, soldered components, including an aluminium alloy. After soldering, the aluminium material is in materially-bonded contact with at least one solder layer. The object of providing an aluminium material is to provide not only good soldering properties and formability, but also high strength. This is achieved because the aluminium alloy of the aluminium material has a solidus temperature, and the aluminium material has an increase in yield strength compared to the state after soldering and cooling.
