THICK, LONG SEAM WELDING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISTORTION CONTROL AND NON POST WELD HEAT TREATMENT OF PIPELINE HOT TAP FITTINGS
A method for limiting fitting distortion when welding a fitting to an in-service pipelinewhere the fitting includes a thick, longitudinally extending, seam located between fitting halvesinvolves welding, on each side of the fitting, a middle third section of the seam in a pyramid-like fashion using an inward progression starting from an end of the middle third section along a profile of a seam bevel, and welding outer third sections of the seam using an outward progression from an end adjacent to the middle third section along a profile of the seam bevel. The welding of each of the three sections per side includes a temper bead welding technique of at least two layers to provide stress relief in lieu of traditional post weld heat treatment.
SCAN STRATEGIES FOR EFFICIENT UTILIZATION OF LASER ARRAYS IN DIRECT METAL LASER MELTING (DMLM)
An additive manufacturing system configured to manufacture a component including scan strategies for efficient utilization of one or more laser arrays. The additive manufacturing system includes at least one laser device, each configured as a laser array, and a build platform. Each laser device is configured to generate a plurality of laser beams. The component is disposed on the build platform. The at least one laser device is configured to sweep across the component and the build platform in at least one of a radial direction, a circumferential direction or a modified zig-zag pattern and simultaneously operate the one or more of the plurality of individually operable laser beams corresponding to a pattern of the layer of a build to generate successive layers of a melted powdered material on the component and the build platform corresponding to the pattern of the layer of the build. A method of manufacturing a component with the additive manufacturing system is also disclosed.
Assembly table for building air separation units remotely
An assembly table for use in a remote manufacturing yard is provided. The assembly table is configured to be collapsible thereby allowing for a reduced footprint during transportation. The assembly table can include a central support base; a plurality of arms attached to the central support base; a secondary support member attached to each arm configured to provide support for and give height to the assembly table when in use; and a centering guide attached to each arm, the centering guide configured to receive a bottom portion of a partial shell, the centering guide located at a predetermined location of its own arm.
JOINING METHOD, JOINED BODY, AND JOINING DEVICE
An overlapping part of a first member and a second member is joined using a tool for friction stir spot welding and a rivet. The first member is disposed on a side where the tool is press-fitted first, and the second member is disposed on a side where the tool is press-fitted last, so that the overlapping part is formed. The tool is press-fitted into the overlapping part to perform friction stirring, thereby forming a friction stirred part in the overlapping part. The rivet is press-fitted into the friction stirred part from the first member side.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ANGULAR AND ROTATIONAL ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
An additive manufacturing apparatus is provided and may include at least one build unit; a build platform; and at least one collector positioned on the apparatus such that the at least one collector contacts an outer surface of a build wall as the build wall is formed during a build. Methods are also provided for manufacturing at least one object.
Additive manufacturing heating control systems and methods
An additive manufacturing system includes an additive manufacturing tool configured to supply a plurality of droplets to a part, a temperature control device configured to control a temperature of the part, and a controller configured to control the composition, formation, and application of each droplet to the plurality of droplets to the part independent from control of the temperature of the part via the temperature control device. The plurality of droplets is configured to build up the part. Each droplet of the plurality of droplets includes at least one metallic anchoring material.
PRE-SINTERED PREFORM BRAZE REINFORCEMENT OF PRESSURE VESSELS
The disclosure describes assemblies, systems, and techniques for reinforcing complex geometries of pressure vessels using a pre-sintered preform (PSP) braze material that includes a low-melt powder and a high-melt powder. An example component includes a substrate comprising at least a portion of a pressure vessel. The substrate defines a contoured exterior surface of the pressure vessel. The component includes a pre-sintered preform (PSP) reinforcement formed on the surface of the substrate by brazing, wherein the PSP reinforcement comprises a low-melt powder and a high-melt powder.
LASER PROCESSING METHOD AND LASER PROCESSING DEVICE
Provided are a laser processing method and a laser processing device which prevent a laser irradiation unit from colliding with an edge of a plate material when the laser irradiation unit returns to a portion just above the plate material from an outer part of the portion just above the plate material. The laser processing method for cutting a plate material by laser irradiation, the method including: a plate material end portion holding process of holding a position of an end portion of the plate material at a predetermined position when a laser irradiation unit is present outside a portion just above the plate material; and a laser irradiation unit moving process in which the laser irradiation unit moves from an outer part of the portion just above the plate material to the portion just above the plate material.
GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH TEXTURED STRIKING FACE
A golf club head includes a heel portion, a toe portion, a hosel, and a striking face. The striking face includes a plurality of scorelines each having an average depth no less than about 0.10 mm, a plurality of micro-grooves each having an average depth no greater than about 0.010 mm, and a plurality of textured surface treatment regions superimposed on the micro-grooves so as to at least partially intersect the micro-grooves.
Three dimensional printer
A lamination molding apparatus capable of supplying a material powder steadily to a recoater head, is provided. A lamination molding apparatus including a chamber covering a desired molding region and being filled with an inert gas having a desired concentration; a recoater head moving in the chamber to supply a material powder on the molding region to form a material powder layer; and a material supplying unit to supply the material powder to the recoater head; wherein the recoater head includes a material holding section to hold the material powder; and a material discharging opening to discharge the material powder in the material holding section.
