Repair of cast iron bore inner diameter surfaces
A method for repairing a worn portion in an inner diameter surface of a bore of a cast iron part is disclosed. The inner diameter surface of the bore may have an original surface geometry prior to wear. The method may comprise forming a crescent-shaped pocket in the inner diameter surface of the bore to remove the worn portion, installing an insert in the crescent-shaped pocket, and post-machining the insert to form a crescent-shaped insert that is flush with the original surface geometry of the bore inner surface diameter.
Mold surface repairing process
A mold surface repairing process, the process flow of which is as follows: first sand blastingdefect identificationrepairing weldingcoarse grindingsemi-finishing grindingfinishing grindingsecondary sand blastingmold heatingspray paint. The disclosure provides a combination of automatic equipment, special grinding tools and finishing grinding process, which ensures the quality and efficiency of the mold repair and reduces the labor force.

Lock and pin combination for cold working cracks
A lock and pin for the structural and fluid tight repair of cracks not amenable to high temperature repairs or synthetic material patches. Fluid tight pins and locks seal the crack while one or more locks prevent the crack from growing. These repairs need to endure the remaining life cycle of the machinery part while withstanding all the strain, pressure, heat and expansion and contraction of the part before the crack(s) were formed. Often these cracks evolved due to engineering design flaws that will require even greater strength from these areas than when new.

Disk stack repair insert
A disk stack repair insert includes a first replacement disk segment defining a first groove pattern comprising first grooves; and a second replacement disk segment defining a second groove pattern comprising second grooves, the first replacement disk segment coupled to the second replacement disk segment, wherein the first groove pattern and the second groove pattern define a fluid passageway therebetween.

Repair or remanufacture of blade platform for a gas turbine engine
A method of remanufacturing a turbine blade having a platform includes placing a puck against a surface of the platform. The method may include electrical discharge machining an interface between the puck and the platform and brazing the puck to the platform. A total radial thickness of a finally remanufactured platform of the remanufactured turbine blade is greater than an initial radial thickness of the platform before remanufacturing the turbine blade.
