The first housing can include a boss that is press-fitted to a boss hole of a press-fitted portion of a second housing to form an assembled state in which the first housing and the second housing are assembled to each other. The housing is disassembled by changing a temperature of at least one of the boss or the press-fitted portion to decrease a contact surface pressure between the boss and the boss hole, and removing the boss from the boss hole to release the assembled state.

The body has a strike face with channels and at least one insert located within at least one of the channels. At least one of the channels comprises a single groove, and the insert forms at least a portion of the single groove. At least one of the channels comprises an opening on the strike face that is narrower than a bottom of the at least one of the channels. A heater for shrink fit chucks has a heating cover, a blocking piece, and an adjustable blocking set. The heating cover has a first through hole, a second through hole, and a heating space disposed within the heating cover, extending along an extending direction to form the first through hole and the second through hole, and communicating with a heat gun. The blocking piece is detachably connected to the heating cover to block the first through hole and has a communicating hole capable of communicating with the first through hole. The adjustable blocking set is connected to the heating cover and has two blade assemblies and a switching component. Each blade assembly has blades disposed annular along the extending direction. The switching component is rotatable and capable of pushing the blades to move toward or depart from each other for blocking the second through hole.

A barrel may include a barrel core surrounded by a lightweight, thermally conductive sleeve made from metal, metal-matrix composite (MMC) materials, also referred to as metal-matrix material. The barrel core and barrel sleeve may include aligning features to prevent separation and movement of the sleeve along the core. The disclosed methods provide for material combinations and part designs that prevent separation of their parts over the life of the weapon barrel and allow the barrel to perform at high cadence over the whole temperature range the barrel is used.

The temperature difference may be induced by either cooling the at least one wiper ring or by heating the cone head, or both.
