09776288 · 2017-10-03 · ·

A method for manufacturing an assembled camshaft for valve-controlled internal combustion engines, in which at least one cam disc with a base circle region and cam region is machined on the running surface and has a cam-disc recess, includes shrinking the cam disc onto a corresponding shaft designed with a defined dimensional overlap by cooling the shaft and heating the cam disc. Temporally before being shrunk onto the shaft, the at least one cam disc is clamped by a clamping device such that a tension force acts on the recess wall region, which defines the cam-disc recess, the tension force corresponding to a predetermined extent to the state of stresses and/or deformation state of the recess wall region after the operation of shrinking the cam disc onto the corresponding shaft. The running-surface machining of the at least one cam disc takes place when the cam disc is clamped by the clamping device.

Installation apparatus and related methods for coupling flow sleeve and transition piece

Various embodiments include approaches for installing a flow sleeve relative to a gas turbine transition piece. Some embodiments include an apparatus for coupling a gas turbine transition piece with a flow sleeve, the installation apparatus having: a radially inner ring; a plurality of expander segments extending radially outward from the radially inner ring, the plurality of expander segments each having an axially ramped segment sized to gradually expand the flow sleeve to couple with the gas turbine transition piece as the flow sleeve is moved along the plurality of expander segments; and a circumferentially disposed space separating each pair of adjacent expander segments in the plurality of expander segments.

System and method for coldworking holes in a workpiece

Systems and methods for coldworking metal are described that reduce the axial flow of metal and increase the radial/tangential flow, thereby improving the fatigue life at an aperture. A tool is inserted through an aperture and its travel speed is reduced when in contact with the metal to reduce axial plastic flow. A sensor as part of the motive system moving the mandrel can sense when the tool contacts the metal and reduces the speed of the tool. The tool may move more quickly when not in contact with the metal to reduce working time than when the mandrel is working the metal. The coldworking tool engages the metal at the aperture at a speed of less than the speed which results in the time duration for the mandrel engaging the metal at the aperture for 35 second per inch of metal thickness at the aperture.

Shrinking and / or shrinking clamping station for tools and method with a shrinking and / or shrinking clamping station for tools

A shrink-clamping and/or unshrink-unclamping station for tools, for an at least largely automated shrink-clamping and/or unshrink-unclamping of tools into and/or from tool holders includes an induction heating unit and a cooling unit. The cooling unit can in an automated manner be brought into a heat-conductive contact with a tool holder previously heated by the induction heating unit.

Lubrication pinion module, lubrication pinion, and method for manufacturing a lubrication pinion module

A lubrication pinion module for applying a lubricant onto a to-be-lubricated element includes a gear element having an inner surface mounted on an outer surface of a bearing element, the bearing element being mountable for rotation on a shaft and having at least one recess on its outer surface, and the gear element including a plurality of radially outwardly facing gear teeth, each of the plurality of gear teeth having first and second flanks, and at least one projection on the gear element inner surface extending into the at least one recess of the bearing element outer surface to form an interference fit with the bearing element such that the gear element rotates conjointly with the bearing element.

Brake disc and manufacturing method therefor

In order to achieve lightness and improve hardness of a brake disk, and minimize weight and improve productivity through an improvement of a coupling structure of a disk plate and a hub, provided is a method of manufacturing a brake disk including a disk plate, which provides a friction surface and is formed with a hole at a center, and a hub, which is coupled to the hole formed at the center of the disk plate, the method including: preparing a disk plate; preparing a hub in the form of a flat plate; positioning the hub in the form of the flat plate on one surface of the disk plate; and bonding the disk plate and the hub by an interference fit.

Method for assembling a camshaft

A method for assembling a camshaft from a support shaft and components to be connected to the support shaft, the components having through-openings for receiving the support shaft. In this method, a support shaft is provided, having first diametrical enlargements in first regions, in which the components are to be secured, and second diametrical enlargements in second regions, in which the components are to be pre-positioned. A diameter (D2) in the second regions is smaller than a diameter (D1) in the first regions The support shaft is cooled and/or the components are heated up, so that the support shaft can be pushed with its first and second diametrical enlargements through the through-openings of the components.
