METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A TURBINE WHEEL
A method for manufacturing a turbine wheel comprising casting the turbine wheel from an austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloy, subjecting the cast turbine wheel to hot isostatic pressing and then subjecting a surface of the hot isostatically pressed turbine wheel to plastic deformation, wherein said hot isostatic pressing is effected at a pressure of 98 to 200 MPa and a temperature of 1160 to 1220 C. for a time period of 225 to 300 minutes. There is further described a hot isostatically pressed cast turbine wheel manufactured from an austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloy, the turbine wheel having a plastically deformed surface; and a turbocharger incorporating such a turbine wheel.
ROTATING BODY, TURBOCHARGER, AND ROTATING BODY MANUFACTURING METHOD
Provided is a rotating body, including: a shaft; and a compressor impeller including: a main body having an insertion hole, which extends from one end to another end side and is configured to receive the shaft inserted therethrough; a boss portion formed at one end side of the main body; and a joint portion, which is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the insertion hole at the boss portion and is welded to the shaft.
TURBINE BLISK AND PROCESS OF MAKING
A turbine blisk for use in a turbine rotor assembly in a gas turbine engine includes a turbine blade having a base end with a discrete bonding surface; an intermediate component having a first bonding surface and a second bonding surface; and a portion of a rotor disc having an outer surface that includes a bonding area. The discrete bonding surface of the base end of the turbine blade is attached to the first bonding surface of the intermediate component, thereby forming a first joint. The second bonding surface of the intermediate component is attached to the bonding area of the outer surface of the rotor disc, thereby forming a second joint. The first joint includes a diffusion bond, while the second joint includes a linear friction weld.
Methods of manufacturing a tandem guide vane segment
Methods for manufacturing a tandem guide vane segment that includes an outer platform, a front guide vane, and a rear guide vane, wherein the front guide vane and the rear guide vane are arranged in a firmly fixated manner with respect to one another. One method includes manufacturing an integral front segment section that includes the front guide vane and a front section of the outer platform, manufacturing an integral rear segment section that includes the rear guide vane and a rear section of the outer platform, and connecting the two segment sections to each other.
BLISK BONDED CMC AIRFOIL HAVING ATTACHMENT
A turbine blade is secured with a turbine disk by a retention assembly. The retention assembly is secured with the disk by forming a diffusion joint with the disk.
Solution for manufacturing a one-piece bladed disc
A method for manufacturing an integrally formed bladed disk of a turbomachine, includes manufacturing a plurality of blades, the blades including a root and a profiled portion; and spark plasma sintering the blades with a metal powder, the blades being angularly distributed over a contour of an annular spark plasma sintering mold, the root of the blades being embedded into the metal powder, the profiled portion of the blades protruding from the metal powder radially outwardly.
Installation and method for assembling the turbine stators of a turbine
An installation for pre-assembling the turbine stators of a turbine each formed of several juxtaposed sectors, includes: an input carriage for conveying sectors intended to form the turbine stators. Each sector includes side faces provided with slots and being associated with a given turbine stator; an output carriage having various trays, each associated with a turbine stator; an automated device for inserting sealing pads configured to interact with a sector conveyed by an automated convey pallet, comprising a robot arm for inserting sealing pads into the slots in a side face of the sector; and another robot arm for gripping a sector equipped with pads from a pallet and depositing it on the tray associated with the turbine stator to pre-assemble the turbine stator.
Method for producing a contoured ring rolling product
A method for producing a contoured ring rolling product for a rotating application from a ring blank, with a ring rolling machine controlled in a process-monitored manner. At least one process window, extending over the rolling time, is defined in relation to preselected process parameters for the specific product on the basis of calibrating specimens brought into their final form by the ring rolling machine. The process window(s) monitored during the process is/are determined by the process parameters of calibrating specimens which produced rolled products meeting the requirements demanded of the ring rolling product. The preselected process parameters comprise at least two of ring growing rate, axial rolling force, radial rolling force, rolling time, and ring blank temperature. Ring blanks are subsequently rolled in a contoured manner with parameters of the rolled blanks being recorded with reference to the preselected process parameters and evaluated to ascertain whether they lie within the predefined process window(s), thereby determining whether they are accepted for further machining and/or processing.
METHOD FOR MEASURING PRE-TWIST AMOUNT OF BLADE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ROTOR
A method for measuring a pre-twist amount of a blade includes a spreading dimension acquiring step, a misalignment acquiring step, a correcting step, and a pre-twist amount acquiring step. In the spreading dimension acquiring step, circumferential spreading dimensions of each shroud-of two rotor blades are acquired. In the misalignment acquiring step, a misalignment amount in the direction of the axis between the shrouds of two rotor blades adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction is measured. In the correcting step, the spreading dimension acquired in the spreading dimension acquiring step is corrected on the basis of the misalignment amount acquired by the misalignment acquiring step. In the pre-twist amount acquiring step, the pre-twist amount of the blade is acquired on the basis of the spreading dimension corrected in the correcting step.
Assembly methods for the connection of a turbine wheel to a shaft
A method of assembling an electrified turbocharger comprising assembling a rotor assembly onto a shaft; balancing the shaft and rotor assembly; attaching at least one bearing onto the shaft adjacent the rotor assembly; inserting a stator assembly into a first housing component; axially inserting the shaft, the rotor assembly, and the at least one bearing into the first housing component; attaching a second housing component to the first housing component; attaching a compressor wheel to a first end of the shaft; and attaching a turbine wheel to a second end of the shaft and balancing the electrified turbocharger.
