METHOD AND MACHINE SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AN INDUSTRIAL OPERATION
A method for selecting optimum operation performance criteria for a metal working process. The method includes the step of developing a process model relating process parameters for the operation with performance variables for said operation, wherein the process parameters and performance variables are retrievable via integrated multiple data sources, and selecting at least one optimization technique to define a function, said function including process parameters. Moreover, the method includes generating the function for optimization by using acceptable tolerances of a product to be machined as a basis to define ranges for performance variables along with ranges for process parameters, and applying the at least one optimization technique to said function, whereby optimum operation performance criteria are calculated for the process model including process parameters and performance variables to obtain a set of requirements to be used for controlling the metal working process.

Coil clad hose assembly apparatus and method
A process for assembling a coil clad hose includes suspending a spring wire helix between carriages mounted on a rail, rotating one of the ends of the helix to expand the helix, inserting a hose through the expanded helix, contracting the helix onto the hose, installing an end fitting onto each end of the hose, fixing one end of the helix together with the ferrule and the hose at one end of the hose, adjusting a pitch of the helix along the hose to another end of the hose, and fixing the helix and the hose together with the ferrule at the another end of the hose. The apparatus includes a rail, a pair of carriages movably supported on the rail, each of the carriages having a through bore holding a tang clamp bushing therein, and a pair of cable clamp fixtures mounted one at each end of the rail.
Strainer and insert assembly
A tubular strainer having a wall defining interior and exterior surfaces, and a first flange on the upper end of the wall, a tubular insert having a cylindrical wall sized for reception by the tubular strainer, and a second flange carried by the insert wall, an elastomeric seal having a tubular body fittingly sealingly carried by the insert cylindrical wall, the seal body configured for progressive compressive radial sealing engagement with the strainer wall interior surface when endwise inserted by the insert within said tubular strainer.

Method for Manufacturing a Welded Component and Use of the Component
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a welded component, where at least one material piece is positioned between metal pieces to be welded together. At least one protrusion (5, 13, 23, 33, 43) is achieved to at least one of the metal pieces (3, 4; 11, 12; 21, 22; 31, 32; 41, 42) to be welded together, and at least one opening (2, 14, 24, 34, 44) is achieved to at least one material piece (1, 15, 25, 35, 45) which is positioned between the metal pieces (3, 4; 11, 12; 21, 22; 31, 32; 41, 42) to be welded and isolated (16, 17; 26; 36) from the metal pieces to be welded. At least one part of the protrusion (5, 13, 23, 33, 43) in one of those metal pieces to be welded together is taken through the opening (2, 14, 24, 34, 44) in order to have mechanical contact through the upper end of the protrusion (5, 13, 23, 33, 43) with the second metal piece to be welded. Welding (37, 38, 39) of the metal pieces together is carried out by focusing the weld effect to the surface of the second metal piece which is in connection with the protrusion to the first metal piece to be welded. The invention also relates to the use of the component.
