Layer debonding

A method of debonding a first layer from a second layer, wherein the first layer is bonded to the second layer by an adhesive located between the first and second layers. The method includes inserting a blade of a cleaving tool between the first and second layers, and exerting a controlled force on the cleaving tool to move the cleaving tool so as to de-bond the first and second layers in a region. The force exerted is controlled to match a de-bonding force calculated for the region, and such that the movement of the cleaving tool stops when the calculated force is less than a force required to move the cleaving tool, and continues when the calculated force is higher than or equal to the force required to move the cleaving tool.

Method of reprocessing a surgical instrument

A method of disassembling a surgical instrument for reprocessing, includes accessing an interior housing of a surgical instrument to expose a slider assembly, an elongated outer shaft including a drive plate and knife assembly extending therethrough, and a torsion spring of the surgical instrument. The method further includes grasping an upper leg of the torsion spring to disengage the upper leg from a slot defined within the drive plate, disengaging the drive plate from the slider assembly, and removing the torsion spring from the slider assembly.

Bottom set downhole plug

A plug for isolating a wellbore. The plug can include a body having a first end and a second end, wherein the body is formed from one or more composite materials and adapted to receive a setting tool through the first end thereof, at least one malleable element disposed about the body, at least one slip disposed about the body, at least one conical member disposed about the body, and one or more shearable threads disposed on an inner surface of the body, adjacent the second end thereof, wherein the one or more shearable threads are adapted to receive at least a portion of a setting tool that enters the body through the first end thereof, and wherein the one or more shearable threads are adapted to engage the setting tool when disposed through the body and adapted to release the setting tool when exposed to a predetermined axial force.

Method and apparatus for removing or reinstalling riser pipes of a riser bundle

A method of servicing a pipe bundle or riser bundle employs a specially configured hoist having a rail that supports multiple lifts. A selected satellite pipe/conduit of the pipe bundle is both lifted and pulled horizontally in order to remove it from a plurality of supports that hold the satellite pipes together in spaced apart positions. During removal of a satellite pipe, the lifts elevate, then travel with and hold the pipe as it moves horizontally away from the bundle.

Tooling system and method for installing hybrid module with clutch and torque convertor into transmission assembly

A tooling system for assembling a hybrid vehicle transmission includes a positioning device, support structure, gripper, clutch actuator, rotational actuator, and controller. The positioning device positions a hybrid module relative to a transmission housing. The gripper grips an input shaft of the hybrid module. The clutch actuator actuates the clutch of the hybrid module. The rotational actuator rotates the gripper about an assembly axis. The controller controls operation of the clutch actuator, positioning device, gripper, and rotational actuator such that an operation is performed that includes the clutch actuator actuating the clutch, the gripper gripping the input shaft of the hybrid module, the rotational actuator rotating the gripper to rotate the input shaft of the hybrid module relative to an input shaft of the transmission module, and the positioning device translating the hybrid module toward the transmission module to seat a housing of the hybrid module on the transmission housing.

Automatic packaging line to pack profiles and rotor

An example packaging line to pack profiles having a U-shaped or a C-shaped cross-section includes a first conveyor and a second conveyor to transfer profiles. The first conveyor and the second conveyor are spaced from and parallel to each other. The example includes a head block to move upward and downward. The first conveyor and the second conveyor transfer profiles to an area beneath the head block. The example includes a rotor, carried by the head block, to couple to a first profile transferred by the first and second conveyors with a concave side of the first profile facing upwards. The rotor rotates the first profile such that the concave side of the first profile is facing downwards over a second profile, where a concave side of the second profile is facing upward, and the rotor releases the first profile to insert the first profile into the second profile.
