SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRELOADING A BEARING AND ALIGNING A LOCK NUT
An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member releasably connectable to the shaft. A press mechanism is coupled to the attaching member and is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. An optical sending unit is configured to output a high intensity light to allow a user to locate a shaft slot of the shaft to align the press mechanism relative to the shaft when the attaching member connects to the shaft.
Device and method for joining a lens to a housing of a lighting device of a motor vehicle
A method for joining a lens to a housing of a lighting device of a motor vehicle, in which the housing is accommodated and secured in a receptacle device. The method includes accommodating the lens in a pre-centering device, aligning the lens towards the housing during an alignment procedure and accommodating the lens by a holding device after the alignment procedure. The method further includes holding the lens by the holding device during a subsequent joining process, releasably attaching the holding device to the pre-centering device, aligning, via fastening elements, during the alignment procedure and moving the accommodated lens and the holding device attached to the pre-centering device relative to the receptacle device such that the lens and the holding device are aligned on the housing accommodated in the receptacle device.

Methods of synchronizing manufacturing of a shimless assembly
Methods aim to reduce and/or eliminate the need for shims in manufacturing assemblies, such as in manufacturing of aircraft wings. Exemplary methods include predicting a set of predicted manufacturing dimensions within a range of predetermined allowances for a first part, manufacturing the first part, scanning the first part to determine a set of actual manufacturing dimensions for the first part, and at least beginning manufacturing a second part before the scanning the first part is completed. The second part may be manufactured based on the set of predicted manufacturing dimensions for the first part. Once the scan of the first part is completed, the set of predicted manufacturing dimensions may be compared to a set of actual manufacturing dimensions to check for any non-compliant deviances between the predicted and actual manufacturing dimensions. Repairs and local re-scans may be performed in the areas of the non-compliant deviances, which may streamline manufacturing.
BONDING APPARATUS AND BONDING METHOD
A bonding apparatus configured to bond a first substrate and a second substrate includes a first holder configured to hold the first substrate; a second holder configured to hold the second substrate; a first imaging device provided at the first holder and configured to image the second substrate held by the second holder; a first light irradiating device provided at the first holder and configured to irradiate light to the second substrate when the second substrate is imaged; a second imaging device provided at the second holder and configured to image the first substrate held by the first holder; and a second light irradiating device provided at the second holder and configured to irradiate light to the first substrate when the first substrate is imaged. Each of the first light irradiating device and the second light irradiating device is connected to a first light source configured to irradiate white light.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT ENSEMBLE MADE UP OF A LAUNDERABLE HOOD AND AN AIR DISPERSION PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR
A Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ensemble made up of a launderable protective hood and an air dispersion protective headgear, is provided. In an exemplary embodiment, the PPE ensemble is made up of a launderable hood that is detachably affixed to and forms a gas-restrictive seal with a protective face shield assembly, an air-supplied protective suit having an air supply inlet/outlet assembly, and an air dispersion protective headgear releasably coupled to the air supply inlet/outlet assembly of the protective suit. The PPE ensemble provides a wearer with a protective hood with reduced or no lens fogging and reduced sound levels under the hood. The PPE ensemble also maintains or cools the skin temperature of the wearer's face during use and thus reduces wearer fatigue.
