BOTTOM FACE PROCESSING METHOD OF PILLAR-SHAPED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE, MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FIRED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF JOINED BODY
A bottom face processing method of a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure including steps of: preparing a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure including a plurality of first cells which extend in parallel with each other from a first bottom face to a second bottom face, and each of which is opened in the first bottom face and has a protruding plugged portion in the second bottom face, and a plurality of second cells each of which is adjacent to at least one of the first cells with a partition wall interposed therebetween, which extend in parallel with each other from the first bottom face to the second bottom face, and each of which has a protruding plugged portion in the first bottom face, and is opened in the second bottom face; and removing the protruding portion from the plugged portion of each of the first cells and the second cells of the pillar-shaped honeycomb structure.
Method for encasing a body of an exhaust gas system
A method for encasing a body of an exhaust gas system with a housing which is wound around the body. Using a winding method, the body is placed in a loop formed by a belt-shaped conveyor element that can be driven in a conveyor device, wherein the conveyor element is seated against the outer casing face at a wrapping angle u of at least 270 degrees. Starting with a first edge, the metal strip is then introduced in a conveyor device between the body and the conveyor element, is drawn into the gap between the body and the conveyor element and is bent around the body until the body is encased at least twice by the metal strip.
Method of manufacturing an exhaust gas carrying device and tool therefor
A method of manufacturing an exhaust gas carrying device, in particular an exhaust gas purification device, and a tool provided therefor include segment-like jaws that are used to deforma an outer housing. The jaws have indentations or projections adjacent to each other, and which are complementary to form a continuously surrounding indentation/projection. The reshaped outer housing is provided with one or more surrounding projections or indentations by the deformation.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING A CORE OF DIESEL EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE
A system for removing an existing core from a diesel emission control device (DECD) housing may include a press, a control station, a decore shaft for engaging the existing core, and a push plate. In certain embodiments, the system for removing the existing core may include a collection container for receiving the existing core. In certain embodiments, a push plate having a second aperture is configured to allow the existing core to pass therethrough. A method for removing an existing core from a DECD housing may include placing the DECD housing on a working platform, activating a force to cause the existing core to move relative to the DECD housing, wherein the existing core passes through an aperture of the working platform.
