A milling device is provided, having a milling tool that rotates about a tool rotation axis, wherein the milling device has a slide, and in that the milling tool is held on a pivot axis that extends transversely, in particular perpendicular, to the tool rotation axis and through the slide, wherein the slide is designed and the position of the milling tool is selected such that, during milling, a traversing movement is effected by manually moving the slide and advance is effected by pivoting the milling tool about the pivot axis. Also provided is a method for milling within a slot of a component, in particular within a blade root receiving slot of a turbomachine, using a milling device.

Milling tool for portion of slot in rotor

A milling tool is disclosed. The tool may include a base including a clamp for coupling to a selected mounting slot of a plurality of slots of the rotor; a milling tool including a motorized milling head; and a motorized linear actuator coupling the milling tool to the base. The base mounts the motorized linear actuator at an acute angle relative a portion of the slot to allow the motorized linear actuator to linearly move the milling tool to machine the portion of the slot. The portion of the slot may include, for example, an end face and, more particularly, a root corner of the slot where a cooling slot flange extends from the root of the slot. The milling tool may be portable.

Robot for clamping onto upright frame members

A system includes a frame having spaced apart first and second upright members, and a robot including an end effector and a plurality of arms. The arms extend from the end effector and clamp onto the first and second frame members to position the end effector between the first and second frame members.

Machine tool comprising a longitudinal rail, a transverse arm, and a motorized unit

A machine tool adapted to perform operations, in particular machining, on the surface of a part of large dimensions. The machine tool comprises a longitudinal rail and a transverse arm orthogonal to the longitudinal rail, fixed at a first end to slide on the longitudinal rail. A second end of the transverse arm is fitted with at least one motorized unit comprising at least one sucker allowing the unit to be held in position on the part during an operation. The unit is motorized and comprises a movement system for crawling over the part parallel to the longitudinal rail. The transverse arm carrying a tool is thus positioned precisely on the part. The unit is articulated relative to the transverse arm around a pivot of axis parallel to said transverse arm, in order to adapt to the curvature of the part along the longitudinal rail.

LARGE DIAMETER TRAVELLING PIPE CUTTER

According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a low profile travelling pipe cutter is provided which is adapted to perform at least one of cutting and beveling a hollow vessel while traveling around the vessel using a cutting tool mounted thereon. The pipe cutter includes inner and outer carriages, a capstan assembly attached to the outer carriage to which a feed cable is attached, and rollers attached to the outer carriage to which a tension cable is attached. The force adjustment assembly changes the vertical position of the outer carriage relative to the inner carriage to compensate for the pipe cutter going inwardly and outwardly as it travels around a hollow vessel in order to maintain constant pressure caused by the lever tension interface. A guard assembly is provided for covering and uncovering the cutting tool during cutting.

TOOL-SUPPORT SYSTEM

A tool-support system for working on holes of a surface. The tool-support system includes two rails fixed to the surface and having imprints regularly distributed over their length, and a mobile tool-support including a mobile optical system capturing an image of the surface. For each rail, at least one wheel is adapted to be moved on the rail, and includes on its rolling strip counter-imprints complementary to the imprints. A mobile tool carries a working tip, and a control unit is configured to control the movement of the mobile tool-support, of the tool and of the optical system to analyze an image captured by the optical system and to detect the presence of a hole. A tool-support system of this kind can therefore move along the rails without slipping while detecting the holes to work on them.
