Planar display assembly

A planar display assembly is provided with a planar display pane in a frame with apertures formed about a periphery. Base members have a post received within the apertures. A retaining wall with ratchet teeth extends from each base member. Latch members with a hoop portion with a slot receive each retaining wall for adjustment in a direction toward the frame to accommodate display panes of varying thicknesses. A tooth is formed in each latch member to engage the ratchet teeth for adjustment. A release tab is provided on each latch member for manual release of the tooth from the ratchet teeth. A flexible arm extends from each latch members to engage and retain the planar display pane within the frame.

A through opening is formed through the frame to view the planar display pane in either direction of the frame. The first opening is formed around the through opening. The second opening is formed around the through opening and facing away from the first opening. A first plurality of fasteners is formed about the first opening. A second plurality of fasteners is formed about the second opening. A plurality of retainers is sized to engage the first plurality of fasteners or the second plurality of fasteners to retain the planar display pane to the frame. The planar display pane is received within the first opening or the second opening.

A fastener for mounting a frame onto a previously installed mirror which does not require screws or adhesives. The fastener has a support panel, a first brace, and a second brace. The support panel functions as the primary support member that is positioned in between the first brace and the second brace. The first brace is a fastener that is mounted onto a first side of the support panel. Additionally, the first brace is used intended to be affixed to the edge of a previously installed mirror Like the first brace, the second brace is a fastener that is mounted onto the support panel. However, the second brace is mounted onto a second side of the support panel and intended to be affixed to a frame. This configuration enables the fastener to function as a mounting device that is positioned in between the frame and the mirror.

A housing is secured to the rear surface of the mirror and the housing includes a first surface, a second surface, and a gap extending between the first surface and the second surface. The mirror further includes a light source coupled to a flexible substrate and positioned behind the rear surface of the mirror; and a reflective element secured to the rear surface and positioned adjacent the translucent portion of the mirror. The flexible substrate is secured to the first surface and the second surface.

This application describes systems that include both novel kinematic mounts as well as new adjustment mechanisms developed to reorient the new kinematic mounts. Adjustment mechanisms described in this application include a main body, a control frame, and control screws to adjust the orientation of the control frame. The control frame is coupled with a kinematic mount's housing, which rotates about a center of curvature of a bottom surface of the housing.
