Tool
A method of operating a hydraulically or electric motor operated tool includes providing a device shaft having electrical contacts; providing an accumulator having an adapter comprising a wall thereon; latching the adapter to the device shaft by a latching part; and engaging a tool with the latching part thereby detaching the adapter from the device shaft, whereupon during engagement of the tool with the latching part, the wall of the adapter is destroyed. When the device shaft and adapter are engaged, walls of the device shaft and adapter form an internal cavity and the latching part is positioned entirely therewithin such that the latching part is completely hidden from view. A hydraulically or electric motor operated tool is also disclosed.
ROTARY UNION WITH INTEGRAL SENSOR ARRAY
The disclosure describes a rotary device that includes a housing, a rotating machine component, a rotating member associated with the rotating machine component, a non-rotating member disposed within the housing adjacent the rotating member, and a sensor array disposed in the housing. The sensor array includes a plurality of sensing elements that are integrated with a control device and a wireless communication device. The wireless communication device is configured to communicate with a central control that is remotely located relative to the housing using electromagnetic waves.

MATERIAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS, MATERIAL SUPPORT STRUCTURES, AND RELATED METHODS
A core support system includes a support structure. The support structure includes a frame and a support member having a saturatable engagement layer disposed over the frame. A method of machining a core material includes applying a fluid to an engagement layer of a support structure and saturating the engagement layer with the fluid, disposing a core material on the engagement layer, causing the fluid to freeze to secure to the core material to the support structure, machining the core material, melting the frozen fluid to release the core material from the support structure, and removing the core material from the engagement layer.
SCRAPER FOR SCRAPING A SURFACE OF A MACHINE TOOL HAVING A WEAR-INDICATING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a scraper (14) for scraping a surface of a machine tool having a wear-indicating device (18, 20, 24, 30) for the scraper lip (16) of the scraper. At least one signal line (18) is embedded in the scraper lip (16) in such a manner that, upon reaching the wear limit (G), at least one section of the signal line (18) is exposed.
Chip conveyor and machine tool
A chip conveyor includes: a cover body; a guide plate configured to guide chips, which are conveyed inside the cover body, so as to be directed from a chip receiving position toward a chip discharging position; a case attached to the cover body and having an internal space provided therein; and a float switch configured to detect, based on a coolant flowing from inside the cover body into the internal space, that a liquid level of the coolant inside the cover body is equal to or greater than a prescribed liquid level. The cover body includes a first space and a second space that are partitioned from each other by the guide plate. The cover body is provided with: a first opening allowing communication between the first space and the internal space; and a second opening allowing communication between the second space and the internal space.
Bearing diagnostic device
A bearing diagnostic device includes an identification unit and an obtaining unit. The identification unit is configured such that a feature quantity, an operation condition of a main spindle at a measurement of the feature quantity, and specification data of the bearing used for the main spindle are preliminarily configured as inputs. The identification unit is configured such that a normal state and an abnormal state are preliminarily configured as outputs. The identification unit is configured to create an identification model through machine learning. The obtaining unit is configured to obtain the feature quantity, the operation condition at the measurement of the feature quantity, and the specification data of the bearing used for the main spindle.
Machine tool and brake checking method
A machine tool for detecting a brake failure more reliably in a mechanism that stops the rotation of a vertical shaft by at least two brakes includes a ball screw extended in a vertical direction, a driving motor that rotates the ball screw, a movable part that vertically moves along the ball screw in accordance with the rotation of the ball screw driven by the driving motor, at least two brakes that prevent a fall of the movable part while power supply to the driving motor is stopped, a brake controller that releases at least one of the at least two brakes while power supply to the driving motor is stopped, and a detector that detects presence/absence of a fall of the movable part or a fall distance of the movable part resulting from the release of the at least one brake, thereby detecting a trouble of an unreleased one of the at least two brakes.
Machine Tool, Machine Tool Control Method, and Machine Tool Control Program
There is provided a technique for more reliably detecting clogging of a filter with chips over conventional techniques. A machine tool that can machine a workpiece includes a storage tank; a discharge unit that discharges coolant stored in the storage tank toward chips resulting from the machining of the workpiece; a filter that removes the chips from the coolant; a collecting pump that brings the coolant back to the storage tank; a first obtaining unit that obtains a first index value indicating an amount of coolant discharged per predetermined time; a second obtaining unit that obtains a second index value indicating an amount of coolant that is brought back to the storage tank per predetermined time; and a notifying unit that notifies of an abnormality in the filter when a result of comparison of the first index value with the second index value satisfies a predetermined abnormality condition.
MACHINE TOOL
A machine tool includes a rotation indexing device and an abnormality determination device. The rotation indexing device including a clamp device configured to maintain a rotary shaft at an indexed angular position and an air purge device configured to supply compressed air to a space within a frame. The abnormality determination device includes a pressure sensor configured to output a pressure signal according to a pressure in a supply pipe conduit of the air purge device, and a determinator configured to determine presence or absence of an abnormality, based on the pressure signal from the pressure sensor.
