The present invention includes devices and methods that assist in hanging pictures or other things in a desired position on a wall or other similar surface where it is desired to insert two or more mounting nails. Embodiments of the invention include a pair of punch assemblies for inserting the nails provided on a pair of parallel stabilizing bars, although other embodiments may include more than two punch assemblies. Preferred embodiments also include a measuring strip (ruler) between the punch assemblies, and a slidable level and/or a laser. The unique nail insertion mechanism includes a sleeve for receiving a finishing nail, a magnet for holding the nail in place, and a coil spring for maintaining the handle in striking position. After positioning the device on a wall, applying force to each handle collapses the spring and causes a nail to be driven into the wall.

A pair of splines is provided with each spline including a raised ridge that extends in a longitudinal direction. The raised ridge is configured for insertion into the recessed channel. The article also includes a first pair of end caps. Each end cap of the first pair of end caps having an end walls and side walls that define a hollow interior, wherein each end cap of the first pair of end caps further includes slots that are formed in two of the side walls that are opposite one another. The article includes an elongated hanging element that has enlarged portions at two opposite ends thereof. The elongated hanging element passes through the slots of the first pair of end caps with the enlarged portions being located external to the first pair of end caps. Wherein in an assembled state, one rail and one spline are disposed adjacent one another such that the raised ridge is at least partially inserted into the recessed channel and the substrate is captured within the recessed channel and the first pair of end caps are disposed over opposite ends of the one rail and one spline to join and hold the one rail and one spline against one another with the substrate captured therebetween.

A mounting device is provided for hanging articles on a wall or other mounting surface. The disclosed mounting device includes a bracket having a raised center portion arranged between two side portions formed integral and contiguous with the raised center portion, and a fastener having a flattened head and a shaft extending therefrom. The raised center portion of the bracket includes a first pair of opposing sidewalls, and the flattened head of the fastener includes a second pair of opposing sidewalls. When the flattened head of the fastener is slidably engaged with the raised center portion of the bracket, each of the second pair of opposing sidewalls is arranged adjacent and parallel to a respective one of the first pair of opposing sidewalls. This prevents substantial rotational movement of the bracket around the fastener to ensure that the wall-mounted article remains at a desired location and orientation on the wall.

A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.
