The present disclosure includes a part hold-down assembly for retaining an oversized part. The part hold-down assembly is aligned along a central force axis and applies a downward force onto the part. The part-hold down assembly includes a top plate, a bottom plate, and a compression assembly extending between the top and bottom plates. The compression assembly includes two, parallel biasing assemblies that extend along compression axes that are parallel to but offset from the central force axis. Each biasing assembly including an upper collar, a lower collar and a resilient biasing member, in one embodiment in the form of a coil spring, retained between the upper and lower collar. The parallel biasing assemblies are positioned on opposite sides from each other about the central force axis, and may be spaced away from the central force axis an equal distance.

Machine tool for machining a workpiece

The present invention relates to a machine tool (1000) for machining a workpiece (1), comprising: at least one first machine tool structure which can be moved freely on a base surface and has at least one machine tool component, and at least one second machine tool structure having at least one further machine tool component, wherein the at least one freely movable first machine tool structure, together with the at least one second machine tool structure, forms the machine tool (1000) configured for machining the workpiece (1), when the at least one freely movable first machine tool structure is positioned on the at least one second machine tool structure.

AUTOMATED PRODUCTION STATION AND RELATED METHODS

Methods and systems are provided for mass producing different products in an automated production station having a plurality of part-processing devices. An example method includes identifying a workpiece received in the production station; selecting control parameters associated with the identified workpiece; electronically synchronizing the part-processing devices based on the selected control parameters to perform coordinated operations on the workpiece for producing one of the different products; and automatically repeating the identifying, selecting, and synchronizing steps for different workpieces received in the production station to produce a plurality of different products in a continuous mass production process.

Machine tool

The machine tool has a machine bed having a first horizontal linear guide and a second horizontal linear guide arranged at right angles to the first linear guide. On the first linear guide is arranged, in an axially displaceable manner, a workpiece clamping fixture, which is swivelable about a swivel axis oriented parallel to the second linear guide and is rotatable about a rotation axis oriented at right angles to the swivel axis. On the second linear guide a toque motor driven swivel arm is axially displaceable, the swivel axis of which is arranged parallel to the first linear guide and which on its free end bears a tool spindle, the axis of which is oriented parallel to the first linear guide.
