In a tool exchanger apparatus of a machine tool including a turret which turns around an axis inclining with respect to a vertical direction and which conveys tools, forces applied to tool gripping portions are calculated from a resultant force of a centrifugal force, gravity and an inertial force applied to each of the tools, using a weight and a position of each of the tools and a turning speed and a turning acceleration of the turret for each of turning phases when the turret turns, and the turning speed and the turning acceleration of the turret are determined for each of the turning phases.

A process air control arrangement for controlling air provided to forming dies of a processing station. The station includes a process shaft having a plurality of openings defined at or about an end, each opening having a passage extending therefrom to a respective forming die for providing a flow of gas to the forming die. The arrangement includes a manifold housing for coupling to a frame assembly of the processing station and a plurality of manifold keys, each key being selectively positionable with respect to the housing. When the manifold housing and keys are positioned adjacent the process shaft: portions of the manifold housing, manifold keys, and a portion of the process shaft define a volume for receiving pressurized gas, and each key is selectively positioned an adjustable distance from at least one opening to selectively affect passage of air into the passage extending from the at least one opening.

A turret device having a configuration for obtaining required processing accuracy, includes: an indexing motor configured to pivotally index a turret tool; a turret shaft configured to transmit a rotation of the indexing motor; and a turret head coupled to the turret shaft on which multiple turret tools are mounted on a circumference, wherein the turret head includes a diaphragm-type base member coupled to the turret shaft, an inner diameter side of the base member is coupled to the turret shaft, and an outer diameter side of the base member is rotationally supported by a bearing fixed to a main body member of a turret.

An indexing system for a lathe tool holder comprises a lower housing assembly with a rotary driver shaft interfaced with a tool turret and rotatable by the tool turret, a rotary driver clutch secured to the rotary driver shaft, and an outer rotary comprising an internally threaded pocket. A rotary pusher with an externally threaded portion mates with the internally threaded pocket. Rotation of the rotary driver shaft causes the rotary pusher to move linearly without rotation. An upper housing assembly mounted on the lower housing assembly comprises a sawtooth connection for a multiple insert lathe tool holder head. A camshaft driver interfaces with the tool holder head and has a cam channel that circumscribes a path that is interfaced with a stationary cam pin. Linear movement of the rotary pusher causes rotation of the camshaft driver and thereby rotation and linear movement of the tool holder head.

Utilities supplied through a first utility path of a turning tool holder via a docking device is supplied to a second utility path of an adjacent rotating tool holder through a communication arrangement, there is no need to provide a complex hydraulic line, a pneumatic line and a coupler for receiving the utilities from the docking device at a rearward side of the rotating tool holder. A rearward size of the rotating tool holder may be minimized, so that even when the rotating tool holder is mounted on the turret, no interference occurs with the docking device in the rearward direction when the turret rotates. As a result, it is possible to use the rotating tool holder, to which utilities supply is necessary, even in the turret which is provide with the docking device.

A live radial tool spacer including a housing having an elongated connector configured to interface with a turret and a tool holder interface configured to support a tool holder. The live radial tool spacer extends a tool connected to the tool holder out from the turret, thereby proving improved clearance and accuracy during machining.
