Dust Containment Apparatus for an Air Tool Vacuum Dust Extraction System

A dust containment apparatus includes a tubular snorkel and dust bellows surrounding the implement of an air too, and a retention assembly housed within the snorkel that frictionally engages the implement to resist movement of the snorkel and bellows with respect to the implement. The retention assembly includes a set of friction members surrounding the radial periphery of the implement, and at least one resilient band that biases the friction members radially inward into pressing engagement with the implement. Preferably, the snorkel and friction members are constructed of non-magnetic material, and the friction members include permanent magnets that are magnetically attracted to the implement to augment the radially inward biasing of the resilient band.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TOOL

An additive manufacturing tool configured to couple to a spindle of a CNC machine, comprises a plurality of drive wheels movable between an engaged position wherein they compress filament from a filament source against a drive disc and a disengaged position wherein they are spaced apart from the filament, and a delivery assembly including a heating element and a nozzle having an outlet opening. When the plurality of drive wheels are in the engaged position and the drive disc is rotated, the filament is drawn into the tool from the filament source and routed around the drive disc to the nozzle, where heat transferred from the heating element to the nozzle melts the filament so that the filament flows through the outlet opening.

TOOL HOLDER AND TURRET

A tool holder (100) holds a tool (170) in a non-rotatable manner. When an attaching surface (112a) of a body part (110, 120, 150) of the tool holder is attached to a tool holder attachment surface of a machine tool, cooling medium supplied from the machine tool flows through a first body part passage (114, 124). Then, a rotary member (130) is rotationally driven by a drive mechanism provided in the machine tool. When a rotary part of a pump (200) rotates with the rotary member, the pressure of the cooling medium suctioned into the pump is proportionally increased in accordance with the rotational speed of the rotary part, and pressurized cooling medium is discharged from an outlet part (202) of the pump. The pressurized cooling medium then flows through a second body part passage (115, 125) and is thereafter sprayed from a spray hole (161) of a nozzle (160).

A rotary part of a pump (200) is connected to a body member (110) to be rotatable together. When the body member is attached to a main shaft (20) of a machine tool (10), a rotation stopping pin (310) of a rotation stopping device (300) fits in a fitting hole (41) of the machine tool and abuts on a wall surface (41a) of the fitting hole, whereby the rotation stopping pin and a rotation stopping lever (340) axially move against an elastic force of a spring (320) and the rotation stopping lever disengages from an engagement hole (113) in the body member such that the body member becomes rotatable relative to a support part (150, 160) that rotatably holds the rotary part. A force detecting sensor (50) outputs a force detection signal indicating a force with which the rotation stopping pin is pressing against the wall surface.
