Method for cutting machining of turbine blades
10556310 · 2020-02-11 · ·

A method for cutting machining of turbine blades (1) on a multi-axis machine tool, the turbine blade (1) is held by a rotatable blade-root clamping device and a rotatable blade-tip clamping device (2) and is machined by means of a tool which is chucked in a tool spindle. A first profile section (4) which is adjacent to the blade tip is first of all machined by the tool and the tool is then removed. The tool spindle then grabs an already horizontal additional clamping device (5) which has clamping jaws (6.1, 6.2) adapted to the first profile section (4). The additional clamping device (5) is positioned on the blade-tip clamping device (2) in such a way that the clamping jaws (6.1, 6.2) rest in the first profile section (4). The tool spindle then grabs a tool and machines the remaining profile section with it.

A machine tool has a clamping device for clamping in workpieces to be machined, a work spindle which is movable relative to the clamping device, a tool magazine wherein tools for machining the workpieces are held available, the tools being selectively clamped into the work spindle, and a spindle gripper to be selectively clamped into the work spindle and being self-holding in its gripping position, said spindle gripper being held available in the tool magazine and being movable between a transfer position to the work spindle and an unloading station in which the spindle gripper releases a work piece remnant received from the clamping device.

Machine tool chip removal

A machine tool chip removal device including a coupling interface to couple with a rotatable spindle of a machine tool to facilitate rotation of the machine tool chip removal device about an axis at a rotational speed. The chip removal device can also include a main fluid channel with an opening to receive pressurized fluid from the machine tool. The chip removal device can further include a first fluid delivery channel and a second fluid delivery channel to direct fluid in different directions. Each fluid delivery channel can be in fluid communication with the main fluid channel. In addition, the chip removal device can include one or more valves associated with the first and second fluid delivery channels to selectively allow fluid passage from the main fluid channel to the fluid delivery channels. The one or more valves can be actuated by varying fluid pressure and/or rotational speed.

Apparatus, kit and method for a tram adapter for an alignment tool
10150194 · 2018-12-11 ·

A tram adapter apparatus, kit and method is used with an alignment tool to check the alignment of the spindle and the table of a machine tool. The alignment tool has two or more indicators retained in a spaced apart relation to the spindle of the machine tool. A tram adapter body is interposed between the indicator body and the stop of one of the indicators, moving the indicator tip to a retracted position. The other indicator remains in the deployed position and may be used to tram the table of the machine tool to check the alignment between the table and spindle.

An alignment tool provides for aligning the spindle of a machine tool to a work holding feature of the machine tool. The alignment tool may include one indicator or may include a first indicator and a second indicator in a spaced-apart relation. The faces of the indicators are rotatable. In use, a machinist may attach the indicators to the spindle of a machine tool, advance the spindle or work holding feature until the indicator tips contact the work holding feature. The machinist can rotate the faces so that the machinist can read the indicator faces without placing the machinist's head within the envelope of tool movement of the machine tool.
