Pillow cap
A protective pillow cover for protecting a pillow against germs and microbes. A barrier component is constructed with at least two layers configured in a generally cuboid shape defining a cavity. An inner layer employs an anti-microbial component creating a barrier between the user and the pillow. An outer layer is constructed with a material designed for the user's comfort. The layers terminate in a perimeter. A securing component shorter than the perimeter is integrated into the perimeter and is stretchable to allow the barrier component to partially encapsulate the pillow. A middle layer of the barrier component may be used to provide cooling or a pleasing olfactory experience.
Crib shield system and other breathable apparatus
An apparatus and method for making same utilizing a breathable mesh material having a reduced suffocation resistance level for infant and toddler use. The breathable mesh material includes an inner and outer fabric that includes larger openings on the front substructure than on the back substructure and a pile substructure is integrated and extends between the front and back substructures allowing air to substantially move effectively therethrough.
Passive encasement zipper containment system
A device is disclosed that provides parasite, dust mite and allergen protection for an encasement used for a mattress or foundation. The device can be part of the original encasement or added as an after-market item to a conventional encasement to prevent the egress of parasites, dust mites and allergens from the gap between the zipper slide and the zipper stop and prevent movement of the zipper slide when the zipper is completely zipped up. The device includes a at least one compressible material that is used. The compressible material is compressed to seal the gap and prevent movement of the zipper slide. In one embodiment of the invention, the device allows the mattress or foundation within the encasement to breathe while blocking parasites, dust mites and allergens from escaping from within the encasement.
ENCASEMENTS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
An encasement includes: a fabric cover that has an elongated opening including a first end location and a second end location; a zipper configured to seal the opening; and flaps attached to the fabric cover on a first side of the elongated opening. The fabric cover is for receiving a household item in the fabric cover. The flaps include a first flap and a second flap attached to the fabric cover on the first side of the elongated opening. The first flap includes a first set of second hook or loop fasteners attached to a first inside of the first flap. The second flap includes a second set of the second hook or loop fasteners attached to a second inside of the second flap. The flaps are configured to secure to the fabric cover at a second side of the elongated opening.
PILLOW APPARATUS
Embodiments of the invention relate to a pillow apparatus that can be turned inside out to expose the internal filler material. Typically, the pillow apparatus in configured for thorough cleaning via a conventional home washing machine and dryer. In some embodiments, the cushion apparatus comprises an outer shell and a filter barrier connected to the outer shell so as to form at least one enclosed compartment. The pillow apparatus further comprises a filler material contained within the at least one enclosed compartment.
Protective barrier for a zipper assembly
Protective assemblies for zippers described may include a protective barrier for preventing migration of particles and/or organisms between opposite surfaces of the barrier. When a zipper assembly is brought to a closed position, a zipper slider may form a connection with the barrier resulting in an obstruction to block infiltration of small particles or organisms (e.g., bed bugs, allergens, dust mites, small particles, etc.). The barrier may be attached to an article, such as a padded material for use with a bedding/furniture cover. In some embodiments, a cover may be implemented to enclose a portion of the zipper slider. The barrier may include one or more padding materials for preventing migration of small particles or organisms past obstructions formed by the padding material(s).
DEVICE FOR COOLING TREATMENT
A device for cooling treatment can include a cooling pack; a cushion including a cavity, the cavity being constructed and arranged to accommodate the cooling pack; at least one reattachable layer of material disposed over the cooling pack and the cavity wherein: the cooling pack is positioned within the cavity, the cooling pack is removable from the cavity the at least one reattachable layer of material disposed over the cooling pack has a thickness of at least 3 mm; and the cavity of the cushion has a depth of at least 12 mm.
Infection control filter label
An infection control filter label includes a frame and a filter membrane that covers a window through the frame. The frame may be removably secured to a cover for an item, such as a cushion (e.g., a pillow, a positioner, a mattress topper, a mattress, a seat cushion, etc.), bedding (e.g., a duvet, etc.), or the like to provide a sealed cover for the item. The sealed cover may be impermeable, with the infection control filter label limiting the passage of dust and microorganisms (e.g., fungi, bacteria, mold spores, etc.) from passing therethrough. Thus, the sealed cover may protect its contents from external factors (e.g., sick individuals, etc.) while protecting the environment outside the sealed cover from the contents of the sealed cover. Information about the item may be provided on the frame; for example, by printing, writing, or the like.
ADJUSTABLE SLEEP PILLOW
An adjustable sleep pillow capable of customizing height and angle is disclosed. The pillow includes a first panel and a second panel having a pillow interior to receive foam. The pillow includes first straps and second straps extending from an inner side of the first panel. The pillow includes first strap openings and second strap openings at the second panel. The pillow includes female members positioned at an outer side and at the top of the second panel. The first straps and the second straps draw through and emerge from the first strap openings and the second strap openings, respectively and connect to the female members to adjust the height and inclination of the pillow. The height and inclination are customized to the specific height and angle that works for a user's anatomy to create an open airway.
THERAPEUTIC MATTRESS SYSTEM AND COVERINGS
A sheet for use with a therapeutic mattress having at least one airway aperture through a mattress body. The sheet comprises a sheet body sized to cover an upper surface and side walls of the mattress body, and a periphery retention feature comprising at least one of an elastic band, corner pockets, straps, ties, or a zipper. One or more functional openings are disposed in the sheet body and positionable to overlie corresponding apertures when the fitted sheet is installed on the mattress body. The functional opening is configured to preserve an airway through the corresponding aperture during face-down use. Registration of the functional opening over the corresponding aperture is maintained by a peripheral retention structure surrounding the functional opening or tension of the sheet body when installed.
