Spatula edge trimming apparatus
A spatula edge trimming apparatus for re-edging a spatula includes a base housing with the front side having a spatula receptacle slot extending through to the cavity. The bottom side has a drop aperture extending through to the cavity. The spatula receptacle slot is configured to receive a spatula. A cutter is coupled to the base housing within the cavity and is configured to cut an edge of the spatula. A drive is coupled to the top side of the base housing and is in operational communication with the cutter. A plurality of controls is coupled to the base housing and is in operational communication with the drive. A power source is coupled to the housing. The power source is in operational communication with, and provides power to, each of the drive and the plurality of controls.
Ring-shaped band saw blade manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus
A ring forming step includes welding opposite ends of a band saw blade including a body part having a band shape, and a tooth part including a plurality of teeth formed on one side part of the body part, to form a ring shape. A polishing step includes polishing an inner surface, an outer surface, and an end face on a side opposite to the tooth part in the ring-shaped band saw blade subjected to the ring formation. A tip tooth tip forming step includes positioning, after the polishing step, the ring-shaped band saw blade subjected to the ring formation by use of one of the inner surface and the outer surface, and the end face as references, joining a cutting tip to tooth tips of the plurality of teeth by welding, and polishing the joined cutting tip to form a tooth tip shape.
Ring-shaped band saw blade manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus
A ring forming step includes welding opposite ends of a band saw blade including a body part having a band shape, and a tooth part including a plurality of teeth formed on one side part of the body part, to form a ring shape. A polishing step includes polishing an inner surface, an outer surface, and an end face on a side opposite to the tooth part in the ring-shaped band saw blade subjected to the ring formation. A tip tooth tip forming step includes positioning, after the polishing step, the ring-shaped band saw blade subjected to the ring formation by use of one of the inner surface and the outer surface, and the end face as references, joining a cutting tip to tooth tips of the plurality of teeth by welding, and polishing the joined cutting tip to form a tooth tip shape.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A CUTTING MEMBER
A method is disclosed. The method includes providing a ceramic blade having a thickness and a ceramic cutting edge portion, providing a primary grind having a primary angle to the ceramic cutting edge portion based on a predetermined primary ratio, and providing a micro grind having a micro angle to the ceramic cutting edge portion based on a predetermined micro ratio. The predetermined primary ratio is a predetermined thickness divided by a predetermined primary angle. The predetermined micro ratio is the predetermined thickness divided by a predetermined micro angle. The method includes measuring at least one of the thickness, the primary angle, and the micro angle, and comparing at least one of the measured thickness to the predetermined thickness, the measured primary angle to the predetermined primary angle, and the measured micro angle to the predetermined micro angle.
System for treating material of a cutting element
A system for treating material of a cutting element may include a method, and the method may include providing a piece of material to form a blank for the cutting element, and applying a cladding material to at least a portion of the blank utilizing a laser to bond a cladding powder to the exterior surface of the blank. The application may include selecting and utilizing a power level of the laser and a rate of movement of the spot of the laser across the exterior surface which is effective to form a stratum of martensite in the substrate of the material below the exterior surface and the cladding material bonded to the exterior surface. The method may further include removing a portion of the cladded blank to form a cutting edge with a portion of the stratum of martensite exposed at the cutting edge.

Cutting tool sharpener
Method and apparatus for sharpening a cutting tool. In some embodiments, an abrasive endless belt is rotated in tension along a neutral plane between spaced apart first and second rollers. A guide assembly has spaced apart first and second guide surfaces which collectively converge to an intervening base surface to form a guide channel. Upon insertion of a blade of a cutting tool into the guide channel, a selected side of the blade contactingly slides against at least a selected one of the first or second guide surfaces and a first portion of a cutting edge of the blade contactingly engages the base surface to serve as a plunge depth limit stop for the blade. The endless belt is contactingly deflected by a second portion of the cutting edge away from the neutral plane to sharpen the second portion while the first portion remains in contact with the base surface.
Cutting tool sharpener
Method and apparatus for sharpening a cutting tool. In some embodiments, an abrasive endless belt is rotated in tension along a neutral plane between spaced apart first and second rollers. The manufacturing apparatus includes a rotatory moving section that provides rotatory movement of the ring-shaped band saw blade including a body part having a band shape and a tooth part including a plurality of teeth formed on one side part of the body part; a surface polishing section that polishes an inner surface and an outer surface of the body part in the ring-shaped band saw blade in the rotatory movement provided by the rotatory moving section; and an end face polishing section that polishes an end face of the body part on a side opposite to the tooth part in the ring-shaped band saw blade in the rotatory movement provided by the rotatory moving section.
