Cannula and Method of Manufacturing the Cannula
Disclosed is a cannula that can decrease the rate of increase in resistance that is generated when penetrating an incision formed in tissue. The cylindrical cannula (1) configures a trocar (B) used during surgery; an incision member (C) can be inserted and removed therewithin; one side of the end portion of the cylinder forms a protruding slanted cut end (2); and a tapered surface (3) having an uneven width and a width that is wider on the protruding side (the side of point 2a) of the slanted cut end than the non-protruding side (the side of point 2b) is formed on the outer periphery of the slanted cut end (2).
COMPONENT PRODUCTION METHOD AND COMPONENT PRODUCTION SYSTEM
A component production method includes: a step of binding a long frame by a plurality of support devices arranged along the frame; a step of measuring, with a distance sensor, a distance to the frame supported by the plurality of support devices; a step in which, based on frame shape data prerecorded in a memory, the support devices move support positions where the frame is supported so that a calculated radial position of the frame being supported by the support devices matches the data about the frame shape; a step of fixing the frame in a state in which the data about the frame shape matches the radial position of the frame; and a step of performing a hole-making operation on the fixed frame.
POLISHING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POLISHING COMPLEX POLYCRYSTALLINE DIAMOND COMPACT GEOMETRIES
A method of polishing a polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) portion of a cutting element of an earth-boring tool, the cutting element comprising a PDC portion and a carbide portion. The method may comprise securing the cutting element in a receptacle, which receptacle may seal off the carbide portion of the cutting element from a working fluid comprising a carrier fluid and abrasive particles, enclosing the cutting element in a pressurized chamber, filling the pressurized chamber with the working fluid, directing a pressurized flow of the working fluid from at least one inlet toward at least one surface of the PDC portion of the cutting element and out at least one outlet, and providing relative motion between the receptacle and the at least one inlet with a motion mechanism. A polishing tool for polishing the PDC portion of at least one cutting element of an earth-boring tool.

NOZZLE CONTROLLER OF MACHINE TOOL
An object is to provide a nozzle controller which can constantly cool a tool in a machine tool. A nozzle controller of a machine tool includes: a tool which is gripped in a spindle of the machine tool; a nozzle in which the angle and/or the position thereof with respect to the tool can be changed and which emits a fluid to the tool; a nozzle drive unit which drives the angle and/or the position of the nozzle; a contact acquisition unit which acquires contact between the tool and a work; and a control unit which controls the nozzle drive unit. The control unit calculates, when the contact acquisition unit acquires the contact, based on a length of the tool and a stroke of a feed axis in the direction of the spindle, the angle and/or the position of the nozzle such that the fluid emitted from the nozzle hits a side surface of the tool, and controls the nozzle drive unit based on the result of the calculation.
Apparatus and a process for grinding an edge and a glazing having a ground edge
An apparatus for edge grinding a glazing comprising a grinding wheel, rotatable about an axis, a groove in a circumference of the wheel and first and second orifices arranged on first and second sides of the plane of the groove, which form first and second jets of coolant directed substantially into the groove on first and second trajectories not in the plane of the groove. A corresponding process for edge grinding causes fewer sharp portions and fewer small fractures in the glazing edge than the prior art. A glazing manufactured by the apparatus or the process has higher edge strength than the prior art.
Method of machining surfaces of rotor disc and grinding machine therefor
A grinding machine for finishing turned surfaces of a rotor disc for a gas turbine engine, including a retaining mechanism for retaining the rotor disc and rotatable about a rotational axis corresponding to a central axis of the rotor disc, a spindle engaged to a grinding wheel and rotatable about a rotational axis corresponding to a central axis of the grinding wheel, the grinding wheel having an outer super abrasive surface, a translating mechanism engaged to at least one of the retaining mechanism and the spindle and actuable to provide a relative translational motion between the retaining mechanism and the spindle along three perpendicular axes, and a pivoting mechanism engaged to one of the retaining mechanism and the spindle and actuable to provide a pivoting motion of the rotational axis of one of the retaining mechanism and the spindle around a pivot axis perpendicular thereto.
