METHOD FOR RECONDITIONING A COMPACTOR WHEEL
A method for reconditioning a compactor wheel of a compaction machine is provided. The method includes mounting a compactor wheel on a positioning system configured to provide one or more of angular adjustment, vertical and horizontal translation, and rotation of the compactor wheel, so as to position the compactor wheel in a desired position. The method also includes providing a welding system configured to perform a submerged arc strip welding or weld cladding operation on the compactor wheel. The submerged arc strip welding or weld cladding operation is performed on at least one surface or edge of the compactor wheel to add weldable material thereto, so as to recondition the at least one surface or edge of the compactor wheel.

The present invention provides an apparatus for resurfacing a rotating elastomer substrate. The apparatus utilizes a motorized grinding wheel, said motorized grinding wheel rotating in a direction counter to the rotating elastomer substrate and having an axis of rotation parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotating elastomer substrate, wherein the perpendicular distance between the motorized grinding wheel and the rotating elastomer substrate is adjustable so as to control the amount of elastomer substrate that is removed; and a mount for said motorized grinding wheel, wherein said mount is located proximal to the rotating elastomer substrate that comprises a part of a production line and wherein the mount is capable of traversing parallel to the rotating elastomer substrate.
Device and arrangement for milling inner surface of pipe
The device is for grinding a pipe from an inside. The device has a spindle arranged to be rotated. The device further has protrusions fastened to the spindle. The protrusions have a strip causing an elastic force when being bent. The protrusions are arranged to position the device or a part of the device inside the pipe. The protrusions have blades arranged to grind the inner surface of the pipe, while the spindle is being rotated.
SLIPRING GRINDING METHOD
This invention relates to methods and materials for slip ring grinding of a generator rotor, without the need of dismounting the slip ring from the rotor of the generator, and allowing the grinding process to be performed whilst the generator is on full-load operation. As such the methods and materials of the present invention differs from current solution. Whilst allowing on-line grinding of the slip ring, the current solutions require low-speed rotations and accordingly operational shutdown of the generator. Allowing on-load grinding, the present invention greatly shortens the downtime of the generator and to perform maintenance on the slip ring beyond the provided standard maintenance schedule.
PIPE COATING REMOVAL APPARATUS
A pipe coating material removal apparatus, comprising a support frame, a subframe, and one or more coating material removal members. The subframe is supported by the support frame and is configured to rotate relative to the support frame at least partially around a subframe rotation axis. The subframe rotation axis is configured to be substantially coaxial with a longitudinal axis of a pipe to which the apparatus may be applied in use. The, or each, coating material removal member is rotatably mounted to the subframe to remove part of an exterior coating of a pipe. The apparatus is configured such that the one or more coating material removal members enable the removal of pipe coating material at orientations substantially parallel to, and inclined with respect to, the longitudinal axis of the pipe.
Roll polisher apparatus and method
Embodiments of the present invention relate to roll polishers that may be utilized with rollers in rolling stands that have restrictive space requirements. The roll polisher of the present invention comprises a tube with pivot actuators used to engage and disengage a rolling pad on the surface of a roller. Transverse actuators may be located at least partially within the tube, or in other embodiments located outside of the tube, and used to move the tube, and thus, the rolling pad, transversely back and forth across the surface of the roller. The roll polisher may operate apply a force to the pad engaging the rolling surface to remove defects and smooth the surface of the polisher.

Particular embodiments provide an abrading tool for abrading a surface of a tire, the tool comprising means for rotating an abrading wheel, an abrading wheel rotatably attached to the means for rotating, and a depth guide secured to the means for rotating, wherein the depth guide includes a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels. Further embodiments include a depth guide configured for use with an abrading tool which includes a abrading wheel and a means for rotating the abrading wheel, the depth guide comprising a mounting member securable to the means for rotating and a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels rotatably attached to the mounting member. Particular embodiments further include a method for preparing a portion of a tire for repair.

The present invention includes methods and apparatus for controlling the abrasion of a tire surface. Particular embodiments provide an abrading tool for abrading a surface of a tire, the tool comprising means for rotating an abrading wheel, an abrading wheel rotatably attached to the means for rotating, and a depth guide secured to the means for rotating, wherein the depth guide includes a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels. Further embodiments include a depth guide configured for use with an abrading tool which includes a abrading wheel and a means for rotating the abrading wheel, the depth guide comprising a mounting member securable to the means for rotating and a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels rotatably attached to the mounting member. Particular embodiments further include a method for preparing a portion of a tire for repair.
PRECURED TIRE TREAD REPAIR GRINDING BIT
A grinding bit is provided. The grinding bit includes a shank having a central axis and a cutting body. The shank further includes a first shank end and a second shank end opposite to the first shank end. The first shank end is configured for operably coupling to a rotary tool. The cutting body is coupled to the second shank end and extends axially away from the shank along the central axis. The grinding bit may include a shoulder surface extending radially from the shank in between the first shank end and the second shank end.
System and method for pre-conditioning pneumatic tires prior to mounting same onto a wheel
A tire pre-conditioning system includes a first mandrel, a second mandrel spaced apart from the first mandrel, and a controller in communication with the first mandrel and the second mandrel. The first mandrel is fixedly attached to a first shaft and including a first tapered sidewall. The second mandrel is fixedly attached to a second shaft and including a second tapered sidewall. The controller is operable to axially move the first mandrel and the second mandrel toward one another until the first and second tapered sidewalls are opposing respective beads of a tire, and supply pressurized fluid into an internal cavity of the tire to inflate the tire. The inflating causing the beads to move relative to mandrels while contacting the opposing respective tapered sidewalls to burnish the beads of the tire.
