Method for the complete grinding of workpieces in the form of shafts having cylindrical and profiled sections
Described is a method for grinding workpieces, which comprise at least one cylindrical and profiled portion each, on one and the same grinding machine. The workpiece is ground initially in a first grinding operation in a first clamping in the grinding machine, said first grinding operation being followed by a second grinding operation once the first clamping has been released and then, before the start of the second grinding operation, a second clamping has been generated.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FINISHING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SURFACE
An apparatus (1) for finishing surfaces comprises a support body (10) configured to removably engage a finishing member (20), and a displacement device (40) configured to move the support body (10) in space according to at least one degree of freedom. The apparatus (1) provides at least one shaping station (250) at which the raw member (20) is positioned to give it a predetermined shape, in such a way to obtain a finishing member, in particular a finishing member (20) which is, therefore, positioned at the three-dimensional surface to be finished to finish the same.
Abrasive machining
A method of manufacturing a rotary abrasive machining tool, the rotary abrasive machining tool including a hub and a plurality of abrasive segments mounted to the hub, the method including the steps of: mounting each abrasive segment on the hub; machining an abrading edge on each abrasive segment while the abrasive segment is mounted on the hub.
Electrochemical discharge-enabled micro-grinding process for micro-components of silicon-based materials
This paper describes an invention involving an electrochemical discharge-enabled micro-grinding process for micro-components of silicon-based materials. The specific machining method is described below. A micro-grinding tool and an auxiliary electrode are respectively connected to the negative and positive electrodes of a pulsed DC power supply. When the current flows through the loop, an electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) occurs at the micro-grinding tool in the grinding fluid, which generate multiple hydrogen bubbles. The bubbles coalesce into an insulating gas film and separate the micro-grinding tool from the grinding fluid; when the critical voltage is reached, the gas film is broken down and an electrochemical discharge occurs accompanied by discharge spark; under the action of the discharge spark, the surface material of the workpiece in the discharge-affected region is directly ablated to generate a heat-affected layer (HAL), namely, physical modification.
MACHINE TOOLS AND METHODS OF OPERATION THEREOF
A machine tool comprises first and second support arms, and a rigid structure which couples the first support arm to the second support arm. A first rotary drive is operable to rotate the first support arm and the rigid structure relative to each other about a first rotational reference axis, and a second rotary drive is operable to rotate the second support arm and the rigid structure relative to each other about a second rotational reference axis, wherein the first and second rotational reference axes are parallel and spaced apart by a fixed distance. A control arrangement is configured to control the first and second rotary drives such that a workpiece mount carried by the second support arm follows a predetermined path relative to a tool mount carried by the first support arm in a plane perpendicular to the rotational reference axes.
METHOD FOR GRINDING THE TOOTHING OR THE PROFILE OF A WORKPIECE
A method for grinding the toothing or the profile of a workpiece that has an axis of rotation and wherein an allowance is ground away from the surface of the tooth flanks of the toothing or the profile. The method includes the following steps: a) measuring the position of the surface of the tooth flanks of the toothing or the profile, wherein the measuring is carried out in at least two positions of the workpiece, which are arranged offset in the direction of the axis of rotation; b) determining the actually existing allowance of the workpiece that has not yet been ground, based on the measurement values from step a); c) determining at least one grinding parameter so that the material removal per time has a predetermined value or does not exceed a predefined value during grinding; and d) grinding the workpiece with the grinding parameters established in step c).
METHOD FOR HARD FINISHING TOOTHED GEARING, PARTICULARLY INTERNALLY TOOTHED PORTIONS AND MACHINE TOOL SUITABLE THEREFOR
The invention relates to a method and a machine tool for hard finishing toothed gearing, particularly internally toothed portions (3), in which method a toothed hard finishing tool (W) which rotates about its axis of rotation is brought into rolling machining engagement with the machined toothed gearing in one pass or in a plurality of passes of differing radial infeed depth under an advance motion with a direction component parallel to the axis of rotation (C) of the machined toothed gearing and under a non-null axis crossing angle, and material is removed from the machined toothed gearing with a tooth flank region (4a) of the machine tool gearing with tooth thickness increasing in the tooth trace direction from the end face (5) facing the machined toothed gearing.
