A pillow includes a pillow cushion consisting essentially of a gelatinous elastomer that is sized and configured to support a head and neck of a person using the pillow cushion. The pillow cushion has a first major surface, a second major surface, and deformable wall members extending between the first major surface and the second major surface. The deformable wall members are located and configured to define voids therebetween such that the deformable wall members may be displaced into adjacent voids upon deformation of the deformable wall members. The deformable wall members are configured to buckle when a pressure applied to a cushioning surface of the pillow cushion, in a direction perpendicular to the first major surface, exceeds a threshold pressure level. A pillow cover covers the pillow cushion. A method of fabricating a pillow includes enclosing such a cushion in a pillow cover.

The circulation of the liquid is effective to transfer heat between the flexible, deformable outer membrane and the phase change material to cool (or heat) the device without use of external power and the saturated foam core in cooperation with the sealable flexible membrane providing a substantially uniform, thermal regulating medium and structural support such that the device is readily, uniformly deformable when a load is applied thereto.

A pillow is provided that includes a foam core and a gel insert molded to each side of the foam core. Methods of producing a pillow are further provided and include a step of providing a foam molding system having a top mold defining a plurality of air ports and a bottom mold defining a plurality of air ports. A vacuum is applied to the plurality of air ports in both the top mold and bottom mold, and a gel insert is then positioned against each of the plurality of air ports. A foam precursor is subsequently dispensed into the bottom mold atop the gel insert, and the top mold is secured to the bottom mold. The foam precursor then expands within the foam molding system and bonds with the two gel inserts to produce a pillow having a gel insert molded to each side of the pillow.
