11027449 · 2021-06-08 · ·

Particular embodiments of the inventive technology relate to apparatus and methods for cutting multi-layered material to reconfigure it so it may be used to construct sub-compartments in a larger storage container. The inventive technology, in particular embodiments may feature one or more of the following: dual blades, “staggered” blades (where one blade is more forward than another), a blade(s) angled upwards and forwards, blades separated in a left-right direction, prong recesses to accept trailing tips of blades, a rearwardly angled handle and/or a removed material ejection ramp, in conjunction perhaps with other features such as, e.g., a guide prong. One or more of such features may appear in the various manifestations of a defluting cutter or through cutting apparatus, whether guided or unguided, and/or manual or powered.

HANDHELD BELT SANDER WITH IMPROVED STRUCTURE
20210146498 · 2021-05-20 ·

A handheld belt sander with improved structure includes a main body having a rotating wheel and a mount. A support rod with a front roller is disposed on the mount. A support member with a rear roller is disposed on the mount. A tightened grinding belt encircles the rotating wheel, the front roller and the rear roller. A space is formed between the support rod and a part of the grinding belt between the front roller and the rear roller so that the grinding belt moves into the space after being pressed. Two side rollers are disposed on two sides of the support member to be adjacent to the grinding belt and are separated from the grinding belt by a gap in order to block the grinding belt from separating from the rear roller.

POWERED SHARPENER WITH CONTROLLED DEFLECTION OF FLEXIBLE ABRASIVE MEMBER
20210039220 · 2021-02-11 ·

Apparatus and method for sharpening a cutting tool having a blade portion with a cutting edge, such as but not limited to a kitchen knife. In some embodiments, a powered sharpener moves a flexible abrasive member such as a belt or disc along a neutral plane. A support member contactingly supports a back side of the flexible abrasive member at a medial location along the neutral plane. The support member is positioned adjacent a contact region of an abrasive surface on an opposing front side of the flexible abrasive member against which a cutting edge is brought during a sharpening operation. In some cases, the support member is a stationary or moveable support member such as a pin or roller offset from the contact region. In other cases, the support member is a platen that projects forward to support the contact region.

METHOD FOR PARTIALLY GRINDING A SURFACE AND GRINDING DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD

A method for removing a flaw on a treated, finally painted surface by grinding involves, after the flaw has been detected, moving a flexible abrasive sheet to the surface and pressing it against the flaw to be machined in such a way that the flaw is detected by a sensor system, which is operatively connected to a robotic arm carrying the grinding plate. The abrasive sheet, which is designed as an abrasive belt, is fed to the grinding plate and the abrasive sheet being pressed against the flaw.
