AUTOMATIC WET SANDING APPARATUS
An automatic wet sanding apparatus is equipped with a suction unit having a suction nozzle that is located under an automatic wet sanding unit in a state where automatic wet sanding is performed and a suction device that generates a suction force for suctioning water through the suction nozzle, so that water having been used for automatic wet sanding can be suctioned through the suction nozzle. This can significantly reduce the amount of water containing sanding dust that flows down a painted surface under the suction nozzle, and thereby reduce the amount of sanding dust that remains on the painted surface after completion of automatic wet sanding. As a result, it is possible to achieve a quality finish on the painted surface while eliminating the need for the troublesome task of wiping off remaining sanding dust.
AUTOMATIC WET SANDING APPARATUS
An air cylinder that changes the posture of an automatic wet sanding unit main body having sandpaper mounted thereon is provided with a guide rod, and an outer circumferential surface of the guide rod has grooves that extend along a shaft centerline of the guide rod and have an arc-shaped cross-section. Balls are interposed between a bottom of each groove and an inner surface of a bush that is provided inside the air cylinder. Thus, it is possible to make two objects compatible with each other: to achieve high-accuracy automatic wet sanding by enhancing the adaptability of the sandpaper to the shape of a painted surface through a reduction of the diameter of the piston rod; and to enhance the durability of the automatic wet sanding apparatus.
POLE SANDER
A pole sander is provided including an elongate body including a passageway for passage of air, an electric motor, and a sanding head attached via a pivot mechanism to a first end of the elongate body. The sanding head includes a hood including a plate and a sidewall to form a chamber, an output spindle projecting from the hood and rotatably driven by the electric motor, and a tubular passage including a first end forming an opening and a second end coupled to an aperture formed through the plate. A flexible pipe is disposed between the passageway at the first end of the elongate body and the opening of the tubular passage to fluidly connect the passageway to the chamber. The tubular passage is oriented at least partially around a portion of the output spindle in a turning direction of the output spindle and extending angularly from the plate.
Dressing apparatus and dressing method for substrate rear surface polishing member
A dressing apparatus 200 includes a bus member 203 which is equipped with a ceiling plate 201 and a circular or polygonal cylindrical skirt portion 202 provided at a bottom surface of the ceiling plate 201 and which is configured to accommodate a polishing pad 131 from thereabove. The bus member 203 includes a dual fluid nozzle 204 configured to jet a cleaning liquid and a gas onto a polishing surface of the polishing pad 131; a dress board 205 configured to come into contact with the polishing surface of the polishing pad 131; and a rinse nozzle 206 configured to supply a rinse liquid onto a contact surface between the polishing surface of the polishing pad 131 and the dress board 205. A cleaning liquid, a fragment of a grindstone or a sludge is suppressed from being scattered around by the skirt portion 202.
APPARATUS FOR POSITIONING A WORKPIECE AND A TOOL WITH RESPECT TO ONE ANOTHER
Rather than machine tools, nowadays robots are used to some extent for the machining of workpieces. The robot holds the tool and machines the workpiece directly. On account of the stiffness of the robot arm, this is currently possible only with imprecise applications with tolerances of not less than 0.1 mm. The invention is intended to make it possible to improve the feed by such robots or portal solutions such that the tolerances are reduced without substantially acting on the production processes. This is allowed by a table-mounted positioning apparatus, in which a positioning unit is connected to the table. The positioning unit has a position sleeve, into which the robot introduces an external holding device for receiving the workpiece, or for receiving the tool. On account of a defined mounting of the position sleeve about a first main axis of rotation about an inner holding device, which holds the tool, or the workpiece, improved positioning of the robot arm can be achieved by the additional support thus created. The positioning unit is in this case passive, i.e. is moved by the robot arm itself.
ADJUSTABLE COVER ASSEMBLY FOR CUT-OFF TOOL
A cover assembly for use on a cut-off tool. The tool has a housing, a motor having a rotor, and an output shaft for fastening a cutting wheel. The shaft is connected to the rotor, so the output shaft turns about an axis aligned with the centerline of the rotor. The assembly includes a cover sized for receiving the cutting wheel. The cover has a collar sized for receiving a portion of the tool surrounding the output shaft. The collar is fastenable to the tool. The tool includes a foot having an elongated planar sole pivotally attached to the cover. The foot is pivotable with respect to the cover to adjust a distance that the cutting wheel extends from the sole. The cover includes a clamp for clamping the foot to the cover when the distance the cutting wheel extends from the sole corresponds to a desired maximum cutting depth.
Wheel burr removing device
The application discloses a wheel burr removing device, which includes a lower brush system, a synchronous clamping and rotating system, an upper brush system and the like. The device may be used for removing burrs from a riser, an upper flange, a center hole and a flange plate edge of a wheel, and has the characteristics of high automation degree, advanced process, strong universality and high safety and stability at the same time.
REMOTE SURFACE TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems remotely polish and compress surfaces for working, including surfaces created through electrical discharge machining. A bridge may secure about the surface and carry a spindle that rotatably extends downward and carries a polishing assembly. The polishing assembly can push against the surface while polishing the same with larger amounts of force. The polisher can be moved about a perimeter of the surface and vertically. Systems may be remotely operated with a pneumatic slide, hydraulic motor, and/or stepper motor. Spotfaces formed from electrical discharge machining, including those in nuclear facilities and deep underwater, may have recast layers removed with such systems without manual or direct operator interface.
Compressor casing repair assembly and method
According to one example, an assembly for a repair of a compressor casing of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The assembly can comprise: an arcuate track configured to be mounted to the casing, wherein when mounted to the casing the track is configured to be spaced in a substantially concentric arrangement from an inner surface of the casing; a carrier coupled to the track and movable therealong; and a machining device mounted to the carrier, the carrier configured to adjust at least an axial position of the machining device relative to the track for machining the inner surface of the casing.
COUNTERBALANCED TIRE PROFILE GENERATING MACHINE
A tire grinding machine includes a frame having a plurality of vertically extending posts. A chuck assembly is associated with the frame and adapted to receive and rotate a tire. A grinding assembly is associated with the frame and is movable with respect to the frame. The grinding assembly has at least one grinding element adapted to contact and remove material from the tire when rotated by the chuck assembly. A counterbalance assembly which has a cable with one end connected to a counterbalance weight and an opposite end connected to the grinding assembly is included. A block assembly may be coupled to the grinding assembly to allow pivotable movement thereof. A calibration adapter may be used to ensure proper positioning of the grinding elements, wherein a level adjuster may be used for this purpose.
