The force sensor (500) is arranged in the region of the tool-side end portion (314) of the machine-side expanding rod (310) and is connected to the control device by way of a telemetric transmission path.

HONING TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HONING TOOL

The invention relates to a honing tool (100) for machining the inner surface of a bore in a workpiece by means of at least one honing operation, comprising: a tool body (110) that defines a tool axis (112) and has a guide bore (115), which is coaxial to the tool axis, for receiving two adjusting elements which can be moved axially independently of each other, and a plurality of guide openings (160) which are distributed over the circumference of the tool body (110) and lead radially relative to the tool axis (112) from the guide bore (115) to an outer face of the tool body; a plurality of cutting means supports which each have a support section (152) that is wide in the circumferential direction and comprises an outer face for receiving cutting means, and have an adjusting section (158) that is narrower than the support section and has an inclined surface on the inner face facing away from the outer face for interacting with an associated inclined surface of one of the two adjusting elements. The adjusting sections of cutting means supports are each radially movably received in one of the guide openings. All the cutting means supports which can be adjusted via the first adjusting element form a first cutting group, and all the cutting means supports which can be adjusted via the second adjusting element form a second cutting group, wherein the tool body (110) has fourteen or more guide openings (160) which have an irregular angular division such that one or more of the guide openings has a different angular spacing (WA) from the directly adjacent guide openings in the circumferential direction.

A head assembly of a honing tool includes a carrier having a proximal end connectable to a spindle, a distal end, and a plurality of stones. The head assembly also includes a pilot cap connected to the distal end, and defining an end face and a sidewall. A transition surface defined by the pilot cap extends between the end face and the sidewall. The transition surface extends at a first angle forming a first angled relief and then at a second angle forming a second angled relief.

The axial rotation of a honing tool head and the radial advance of the co-rotating honing stones are accomplished simultaneously by a magnetic coupling. The magnetic coupling connects an inner and drive axle that are driven independently. When the inner axial is driven at a differential speed than the drive axle, a connected pinion gear mechanism is engaged to transfer torque and radially displace the honing stones in response to the speed difference.

Method and Device for Producing Non-Cylindrical Bores with at Least One Recess by Honing

A honing tool has a tool body and shells disposed on the tool body. Honing stone sets each provided with two or more honing stones are provided. The shells each support one of the honing stone sets. Guide bars of the honing tool are placed against the bore and a portion of the bore is conically honed with decreasing stroke of the honing tool, wherein a lower reversing point of the honing tool remains substantially unchanged. Honing is terminated as soon as an upper reversing point has reached a predetermined terminal value. Alternatively, a portion of the bore is conically honed with a constant stroke of the honing tool, wherein reversing points of the stroke of the honing tool remain substantially unchanged and a feeding force pressing the honing stones against the bore is controlled as a function of a position of the honing tool in the bore.

Method and tool for producing a surface of predetermined roughness

For producing a cylindrical surface that has a surface structure of predetermined geometry suitable for application of material by thermal spraying, a geometrically predetermined groove structure of minimal depth and width is introduced into the surface by a tool embodied as a follow-on tool in that a groove cross-section is processed successively to a final size. In order for the surface to be producible in mass production with constant quality, the groove structure is worked in such that first a base groove is introduced with a groove bottom width that is smaller than the groove bottom width of the finished groove. Subsequently, at least one flank of the base groove is processed for producing an undercut groove profile by a non-cutting action or cutting action wherein the introduced groove structure is deformed in such a way that the groove openings are constricted by upsetting deformations of material.
