Surface finishing
Grooves are formed on an exterior surface of a component. The grooves are formed proximate to one another such that the grooves diffract light. The exterior surface is processed to reduce the sharpness of peaks between the grooves, reduce differences between the peaks and valleys of the grooves, and/or roughen the grooves. The processing reduces diffraction caused by the grooves such that light reflected from the grooves is not substantially color-shifted (e.g., is or is near the color of the reflecting surface). In various implementations, the processing may include dry blasting, etching, abrasive blasting, burnishing, grinding, ablation, an/or any other process capable of reducing the sharpness, reducing the differences, and/or roughening the surface. In implementations where dry blasting is used, the dry blasting may use ceramic beads as a blast material.
MOLD SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD AND MOLD TREATED WITH SAID METHOD
A method of treating a surface of a mold. The method includes forming dimples on a surface of a mold by ejecting substantially spherical ejection-particles so as to bombard the surface of the mold. The dimples are formed so as to satisfy a condition defined by the following formula:
1+3.3e.sup.H/230W3+13.4e.sup.H/1060
wherein W is an equivalent diameter (m) of the dimples and H is a base metal hardness (Hv) of the mold.
INTERLAYER FOR LAMINATED GLASS, LAMINATED GLASS, PRODUCTION METHOD FOR EMBOSSING ROLL, AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR INTERLAYER FOR LAMINATED GLASS
The present invention aims to provide an interlayer film for a laminated glass having recesses in the shape of engraved lines on both surfaces to exhibit excellent deaeration properties in production of a laminated glass and suppressing formation of a moire pattern when unwound from a rolled body thereof. The present invention also aims to provide a laminated glass including the interlayer film for a laminated glass, a method for producing an embossing roll suitably used for production of the interlayer film for a laminated glass, and a method for producing the interlayer film for a laminated glass. The present invention relates to an interlayer film for a laminated glass, having a large number of recesses on both surfaces, the recesses each having a groove shape with a continuous bottom and being regularly adjacent and parallel to each other, the interlayer film having a glossiness on a surface with the large number of recesses measured in conformity with JIS Z 8741-1997 of higher than 3% or a haze value measured in conformity with JIS K 7105-1981 of 87% or lower.
CAVITATION PROCESSING METHOD
An object of the present invention is to provide a cavitation processing method for performing the cavitation processing on a side surface of an target hole of an workpiece. The cavitation processing method, includes: immersing a workpiece and a nozzle in a processing liquid, the workpiece having a target hole having an axial line and a side surface, the nozzle having an ejection port; and ejecting a jet of the processing liquid containing a cavity along an ejection direction, the ejection direction being inclined with respect to the axial line as viewed from perpendicular to the axial line and being inclined with respect to a normal line from the ejection port to the side surface as viewed along the axial line.
CAVITATION PROCESSING METHOD AND CAVITATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
The cavitation processing method, includes: immersing a nozzle that ejects a jet of a processing liquid of cavitation, a workpiece including a groove portion extending in a left-right direction and having edge portions at a front and a rear as viewed from the nozzle, and a guide member including a rectifying portion that flows the jet in a front-rear direction and a closing portion that closes a front end of the rectifying portion in the processing liquid; moving the closing portion to close to a front edge portion; ejecting the jet from the nozzle; and introducing the jet to the rectifying portion from the rear to cause the jet to collide with the closing portion for changing a flow direction of the jet to cause the jet to collide with a bottom portion of the groove portion.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SHAPING MATERIALS
Shaping systems and methods suitable for cutting a material and deburring devices for performing a deburring operation on an edge of the material. The shaping systems include means for supporting the material and at least first and second carriage units independently operable to travel parallel to an axis of the supporting means. The first carriage unit comprises a cutting device coupled thereto with a first arm, and the second carriage unit comprises a deburring device coupled thereto with a second arm. The cutting device and the deburring device are coupled to the first and second carriage units, respectively, so as to move in a travel direction relative to the material supported by the supporting means and perform cutting and deburring operations, respectively, from opposite surfaces of the material.
