APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PEENING OF MACHINE COMPONENTS

A peening device for treating a component includes a shot media propulsion source configured to propel a quantity of shot media. The device also includes a plurality of treatment enclosures each selectively coupleable to the shot media propulsion source. Each of the treatment enclosures has a shape complementary to a corresponding one of a plurality of portions of the component, such that each treatment enclosure and the corresponding portion cooperate to enclose the shot media.

Safety communication system for remote sandblasting operations

An independent safety warning and notification system for sandblasting operations that require an operator of a blasting hose to be remotely positioned to the blasting pot operator. A dedicated activation switch assembly is secured to an existing sandblast hose with a separate dead man switch or alternately with an integrated dead man switch allowing the blast nozzle operator to communicate critical information to the pot operator. A warning notification light display and audible alarm assembly with a remotely positional warning light alarm is selectively secured near the pot operator for notification that a prescribed predetermined action has been requested by the blast nozzle operator or an emergency situation by activation of the switch assembly.

Reduced noise abrasive blasting systems

Reduced noise abrasive blasting assemblies and systems are described. The new assemblies and systems are comprised of standard blast hose, accelerator hose, couplings and nozzle. The improved abrasive blasting system maintains abrasive particle velocity while decreasing the exit gas velocity and consequently decreasing sound production. This is accomplished through an acceleration section with reduced inner diameter and sufficient length to provide the necessary abrasive particle velocity. The new system maintains the productivity and efficiency of conventional abrasive blasting systems but with greatly reduced acoustic noise production and reduces operator fatigue due to the lower weight of the carried portion of the system.
