Water jet peening device

According to the present invention, the distance between a spray nozzle and a surface to be constructed is kept constant, and the spray nozzle is moved smoothly to perform water jet peening in a suitable state of construction. A water jet peening device has a spray nozzle (8) for spraying a water jet, the spray nozzle being capable of moving along a predetermined movement trajectory so that a spray port (8a) of the spray nozzle points upward or downward.

The invention is directed toward wet-abrasive blasting systems used for cleaning, preparing surfaces, removing coatings, and other abrasive blasting applications. The wet abrasive basting system has a blast pot that includes a venting system. The venting system may be a self-venting system that allows gases to be vented during charging and prevents gases from accumulating in the blast pot during operation. In wet abrasive blasting systems a slurry is conveyed via a piping system, hoses, etc. to a mixer connected to a source of pressurized gas where slurry and compressed air/gas are combined and directed through the blast hose and blast nozzle.

Provided herein are a system and method for an efficient and safe method for the removal of surfacing materials which may contain toxic components from a work surface through wet blasting. The method and apparatus provided may utilize a mixture of surfactant and water combined with abrasive media for use in a wet blasting operation in which the creation of waste in solid dust form is reduced or substantially prevented.

Reducing small colloidal particle concentrations in feed and/or byproduct fluids in the context of waterjet processing

A waterjet system in accordance with a particular embodiment includes a pressurizing device configured to pressurize a fluid, a cutting head downstream from the pressurizing device, and a catcher positioned to collect a jet from the cutting head. The system can further include a treatment assembly configured to treat a feed fluid to the pressurizing device and/or a byproduct fluid from the catcher, such as by removing submicron colloidal particles from the feed fluid and/or from the byproduct fluid. For example, the treatment assembly can include a coagulation unit, such as a chemical coagulation unit or an electrocoagulation unit, configured to coagulate the submicron colloidal particles. The pressurizing device, the cutting head, and the treatment assembly can be at different respective portions of a fluid-recycling loop.

A seal assembly seals a gap between a pump plunger and a high pressure cylinder of a pump. The assembly includes a seal ring having a bore through which the plunger can extend, a front axial end, and a rear axial end. An O-ring is positioned on the seal ring. A packing ring has a bore through which the plunger can extend, a front axial end abutting the rear axial end of the seal ring, and a rear axial end. A non-metal packing follower has a bore through which the plunger can extend, a front axial end abutting the rear axial end of the packing ring, and a rear axial end. The non-metal packing follower can be ceramic (e.g., carbide) or similar hard, wear-resistant materials.
