BONDED ABRASIVE ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Methods for manufacturing bonded abrasive articles, for example vitrified bonded grinding wheels. A bondable abrasive composition is prepared including abrasive particles, a binder medium and a gamma-pyrone pore inducing material, such as ethyl maltol. A precursor abrasive structure is formed from the composition. The gamma-pyrone pore inducing material is removed from the precursor abrasive structure to provide a porous precursor abrasive structure that is further processed to provide a bonded abrasive article. In some embodiments, the binder medium includes a vitreous bonding material, and the bonded abrasive article is a porous vitrified bonded grinding wheel.
Nonwoven abrasive articles and methods of making the same
Nonwoven abrasive articles comprise a nonwoven abrasive member having an overlayer composition comprising a fatty acid metal salt disposed thereon adjacent to a working surface. The nonwoven abrasive member comprises abrasive particles adhered to a fiber web by a binder. The abrasive particles may be exposed and/or the nonwoven abrasive member may have suitable frictional properties. Methods of making the same are also disclosed.
MAGNETIZABLE AGGLOMERATE ABRASIVE PARTICLES, ABRASIVE ARTICLES, AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Magnetizable agglomerate abrasive particle can comprise constituent abrasive particles retained in a binder material. The magnetizable particles and the constituent abrasive particles are unassociated, and wherein the magnetizable particles have a Mohs hardness of 6 or less. Magnetizable agglomerate abrasive particles can also comprise magnetizable abrasive particles retained in a binder material, wherein each magnetizable abrasive particle comprises a respective ceramic body and a magnetizable layer disposed on at least a portion of the ceramic body. Pluralities of abrasive particles are also disclosed. Methods of making, and abrasive articles including the magnetizable agglomerate particles are also disclosed.
BONDED ABRASIVE WHEEL AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A bonded abrasive wheel comprises magnetizable abrasive particles retained in an organic binder. The bonded abrasive wheel has a central portion adjacent to a central hub, an outer circumference and a rotational axis extending through the central hub. The magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the central hub are aligned at an average angle of less than 35 degrees with respect to the rotational axis, and the magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the outer circumference of the bonded abrasive wheel are aligned at an average angle that is from 35 and 90 degrees, inclusive, with respect to the rotational axis. Methods of making a bonded abrasive wheel are also disclosed.
BONDED ABRASIVE WHEEL AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A bonded abrasive wheel comprises magnetizable abrasive particles retained in a first organic binder. The bonded abrasive wheel has a central portion adjacent to a central hub, an outer circumference, and a rotational axis extending through the central hub. A majority of the magnetizable abrasive particles are substantially parallel to the rotational axis. A method of making the bonded abrasive wheel is also disclosed.
Additive composition and composition binding agent for superhard material and preparation thereof, and self-sharpening diamond grinding wheel and preparation thereof
Disclosed are an additive raw material composition and an additive for superhard material product, a method for preparing the additive, a composite binding agent, a superhard material product, a self-sharpening diamond grinding wheel and a method for manufacturing the same. The raw material composition consisting of components in following mass percentage: Bi2O3 25%40%, B2O3 25%40%, ZnO 5%25%, SiO2 2%10%, Al2O3 2%10%, Na2CO3 1%5%, Li2CO3 1%5%, MgCO3 0%5%, and CaF2 1%5%. The composite binding agent is prepared from the additive and a metal composite binding agent. The self-sharpening diamond grinding wheel prepared from the composite binding agent has high self-sharpness, high strength, and fine texture, is uniformly consumed during the grinding process, does not need to be trimmed during the process of being used, and maintains good grinding force all the time, fundamentally solving the problems of long trimming time and high trimming cost of the diamond grinding wheel.
