ABRASIVE ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
Various embodiments disclosed relate to an abrasive article. The abrasive article includes a first major surface and an opposed second major surface. Each major surface contacts a peripheral side surface. A central axis extends through the first and second major surfaces. A first layer of abrasive particles is dispersed within the abrasive article according to a first predetermined pattern. Further a second layer of abrasive particles spaced apart from the first layer of abrasive particles and is dispersed within the abrasive article along a according to a second predetermined pattern. A binder material retains the first and second layers of abrasive particles in the abrasive article. A portion of the binder material is located between the first and second layers of abrasive particles. That portion of the binder material is substantially continuous.
Manufacturing method of honeycomb structure, and grinding wheel
A manufacturing method of the honeycomb structure uses a grinding wheel having a coarse abrasive grain layer and a pair of fine abrasive grain layers sintered and secured to be formed on both sides of the coarse abrasive grain layer, and has a grinding wheel rotating step of rotating the pair of grinding wheels disposed via a predetermined space in a state where fine abrasive grain layers of the grinding wheels face each other; a conveying step of conveying a honeycomb formed body formed by extrusion and the like; an end face grinding step of grinding end faces of the conveyed honeycomb formed body with the rotating grinding wheels; and a firing step of firing the honeycomb formed body.

MACHINING TOOL FOR GRINDING A WORKPIECE
The machining tool is used for grinding a workpiece in a machine tool. The tool includes at least a first machining portion having particles of a harder material than the material of the workpiece to be machined, the particles being arranged in a binder, and at least a second machining portion having particles of smaller diameter than the first machining portion, and of a harder material than the material of the workpiece to be machined, the particles of the second portion being arranged in an identical binder to that of the first portion or in a different binder.
ABRASIVE ARTICLES HAVING A PLURALITY OF PORTIONS AND METHODS FOR FORMING SAME
An abrasive article can include a body including a plurality of portions including a first abrasive portion and a second abrasive portion. The first abrasive portion can include a vitreous bond material and abrasive particles contained within the bond material. The second abrasive particles can include an organic bond material and abrasive particles contained within the bond material. The body can have a burst speed of at least 65 m/s. In an embodiment, the abrasive article can include an interior portion coupled to the first and second abrasive portions. In another embodiment, the interior portion can optionally include abrasive particles or a filler material.

MACHINE TOOLS AND METHODS OF OPERATION THEREOF
A machine tool comprises first and second support arms, and a rigid structure which couples the first support arm to the second support arm. A first rotary drive is operable to rotate the first support arm and the rigid structure relative to each other about a first rotational reference axis, and a second rotary drive is operable to rotate the second support arm and the rigid structure relative to each other about a second rotational reference axis, wherein the first and second rotational reference axes are parallel and spaced apart by a fixed distance. A control arrangement is configured to control the first and second rotary drives such that a workpiece mount carried by the second support arm follows a predetermined path relative to a tool mount carried by the first support arm in a plane perpendicular to the rotational reference axes.
ABRASIVE ARTICLE WITH DIFFERENT PLURALITIES OF ABRASIVE PARTICLES
An abrasive article includes a first plurality of abrasive particles and a second plurality of abrasive particles. The first plurality of abrasive particles differ in at least one of a size, an average weight and a shape from the second plurality of abrasive particles. The first plurality of abrasive particles are spaced from the second plurality of abrasive particles by at least a minimum distance in the x-axis direction, and both the first plurality of abrasive particles and the second plurality of abrasive particles extend in similar paths to one another with respect to the y-axis.
RESIN BONDED-ABRASIVE ARTICLE HAVING MULTIPLE COLORS
Various embodiments disclosed relate to a composite abrasive article. The article can be formed from a first portion having a first color and a second portion of the article having a second color different than the first color.
