ABRASIVE DISK HAVING EXCELLENT WORKABILITY AND STABILITY AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The present invention relates to an abrasive disk that is excellent in workability and stability and has a low degree of fatigue applied to workers and tools, and a process for producing the same. The abrasive disc is excellent in stability by virtue of a high adhesive strength of each layer, has high flexibility, elasticity, and adhesiveness, and is lightweight per unit area. Thus, it has a low degree of fatigue applied to workers and expensive tools. In addition, according to the above production process, the abrasive disk can be continuously mass-produced.

Multi-functional debur tool
A system and method for a composite finishing system. The composite finishing system comprises an abrasive bit with an abrasive material on a removal surface of the abrasive bit, where in the abrasive bit has a pilot structure that positions an abrasive surface relative to an edge break intersection of a hole in a composite structure when a pilot structure is placed into the hole.

Intelligent polisher/buffer with selective color-matching light
An improved buffer/polisher for treated painted surfaces, including painted cars, automobiles, vehicles and the like, including surfaces with state-of-the-art, hardened coats of paint or finish, includes built-in source of illumination, disposed on the housing, direct light downwardly and toward the work surface. The source of illumination emits light with a color temperature above 4500 degrees Kelvin, more preferably at 5000 degrees Kelvin or greater. Even more preferably, the source of illumination is switchable to include light with a color temperature including 5000 degrees Kelvin (mimicking daylight at 10-11 am) and 6500K (mimicking daylight at 12 noon). The source of illumination may comprise one or more LEDs, and the polishing pad may assume a random orbital motion.
ENDPOINTING DETECTION FOR CHEMICAL MECHANICAL POLISHING BASED ON SPECTROMETRY
A method of detecting a polishing endpoint includes storing a plurality of library spectra, measuring a sequence of spectra from the substrate in-situ during polishing, and for each measured spectrum of the sequence of spectra, finding a best matching library spectrum from the plurality of library spectra to generate a sequence of best matching library spectra. Each library spectrum has a stored associated value representing a degree of progress through a polishing process, and the stored associated value for the best matching library spectrum is determined for each best matching library spectrum to generate a sequence of values representing a progression of polishing of the substrate. The sequence of values is compared to a target value, and a polishing endpoint is triggered when the sequence of values reaches the target value.

Rough Grinding Wheel Comprising A Core
A rough grinding wheel for processing material surfaces includes a wheel-shaped base body having a central recess penetrated by an axis of rotation for direct or indirect connection to a drive shaft of a tool. The rough grinding wheel has a stabilizing core stabilizing the rough grinding wheel. The stabilizing core is associated with at least one abrasive layer circumferentially adjacent to the central recess. The stabilizing core has a higher strength than the at least one abrasive layer.

POLISHING OR GRINDING PAD WITH MULTILAYER REINFORCEMENT
A polishing or grinding pad with a multilayer reinforcement is provided. In one aspect, a floor polishing or grinding pad assembly employs a flexible pad, at least two reinforcement layers or rings with different characteristics, and multiple floor-contacting tools such as abrasive disks. In another aspect, a workpiece polishing or grinding pad assembly includes a flexible and rotatable pad, a polymeric reinforcement layer coupled to the pad and a metallic reinforcement layer to which are coupled abrasive tools. In yet another aspect, a floor-facing reinforcement is more flexible than a pad-facing reinforcement which is more rigid.
