The present disclosure is directed to improved food protection apparatuses, assemblies, and methods of use. The food protection apparatus includes a base portion; a removable covering coupled to the base portion, the removable covering including a top surface and one or more side walls, the top surface integrally connected to the one or more side walls; and a candle delivery apparatus coupled to the top surface of the removable covering, the candle delivery apparatus including one or more openings to receive one or more candles to position the candles external to the removable covering.

A cover for a food item includes a sidewall and a top. The cover is made of a plastic material that is at least one of rigid, transparent, fire retardant, and dishwasher safe. The top is integrally coupled to the sidewall and together with the sidewall forms an interior space to enclose the food item located therein. The top comprises an upper surface having a feature configured to secure a candle to the top. The feature is at least one of a recess and a protrusion. The cover is configured to protect the food item from airborne contamination released by a person while blowing out the candle.

A cover for a food item includes a sidewall and a top. The cover is made of a plastic material that is at least one of rigid, transparent, fire retardant, and dishwasher safe. The top is integrally coupled to the sidewall and together with the sidewall forms an interior space to enclose the food item located therein. The top comprises an upper surface having a feature configured to secure a candle to the top. The feature is at least one of a recess and a protrusion. A device is provided for holding a butter-like product packaged as an elongate solid or semi-solid stick or bar. The device has a base with opposed first and second sides. At least one anchor extends from the first side of the base, and an elongate handle extends from the second side of the base. The at least one anchor is configured for insertion into the butter-like product such that the device can hold and support the butter-like product. The handle is configured to be gripped or otherwise held by a user's hand for moving and maneuvering the device with a butter-like product secured thereto during use. The base is configured to interface to an end part of the butter-like product supported by the at least one anchor during use and also functions as a drip guard during use. A device is provided for holding a butter-like product packaged as an elongate solid or semi-solid stick or bar. The device has a base with opposed first and second sides. A sanitary candle deck for cakes and method for presenting ceremonious cakes. The deck has a series of apertures into which each individual candle by friction-force. The base of the candles are inserted into the cake in standard custom. Upper ends of each candle extend above the deck surface for lighting each respective wick in ceremony. The deck protects the cake by collecting hot melting wax and potential saliva-born germs from blowing candles.

A protective cake cover for supporting candles includes a hollow sidewall having an upper end and a lower end, a top cover wall extending across the upper end of the hollow sidewall to define a closed upper end of the protective cake cover, a groove formed in the top cover wall that is configured to support one or more candles that project above the top cover wall, and a recess formed in a central region of the top cover wall and surrounded by the groove, whereby the recess is configured to receive a box that contains candles. The groove has a circular, square, or rectangular shape, and the recess has a square or rectangular shape that is adapted to receive a box of candles that can be stored on the protective cake cover.

A protective cake cover for supporting candles includes a hollow sidewall having an upper end and a lower end, a top cover wall extending across the upper end of the hollow sidewall to define a closed upper end of the protective cake cover, a groove formed in the top cover wall that is configured to support one or more candles that project above the top cover wall, and a recess formed in a central region of the top cover wall and surrounded by the groove, whereby the recess is configured to receive a box that contains candles. The groove has a circular, square, or rectangular shape, and the recess has a square or rectangular shape that is adapted to receive a box of candles that can be stored on the protective cake cover.

A cake shield with a top cover and side wall dimensioned to enclose a cake to prevent contamination during celebration is disclosed. Recesses in the top cover may include a recessed track dimensioned to hold multiple candles, a deeper cylindrical or conical recess, or a recess dimensioned for a candle with a rectangular footprint. Use of transparent material allows the cake to be viewed under the shield. The cake shield may comprise a base wall that supports the side wall of the top cover, and two or more pieces may interlock to form the base wall. A kit may also include a base plate for supporting both the cake and the side wall, as well as decorations for the top cover that may include candles and other materials.
