In some embodiments, the abrading components include a metallic material, such as copper material. In some embodiments, the abrading components include a phenolic material.
Polishing system and a polishing tool comprising said polishing system
The present invention relates to a polishing system (100) for providing a polishing finish to a concrete surface, said system comprises a pad lock (2) which, one a second surface (6) thereof, comprises a number of protrusions (32) which are able to enter into engagement with a voids (16) arranged on a first surface (12) of a pad (10) placed between a fixing ring and said pad lock. The use of such a system provides a higher degree of integrity during use of said polishing system.
Elastic self-lubricating polishing tool
An elastic self-lubricating polishing tool includes an elastic grinding layer including an abrasive member and an elastic base layer affixed to the abrasive member, an absorbing layer absorbing and sustainedly releasing liquid inside of the absorbing layer, and an adhesive layer overlappedly connected with the elastic base layer of the elastic grinding layer and the absorbing layer. The elastic self-lubricating polishing tool is elastic and self-lubricating to sand and polish a surface of a workpiece.
ABRADING WITH AN ABRADING PLATE
A method of abrading the surface of a workpiece is disclosed. The method includes providing a workpiece, an abrading apparatus with a backing pad configured to receive an abrading plate, an abrading plate attachable to the backing pad and a slurry including abrasive grains; attaching the abrading plate to the backing pad; providing the slurry including abrasive grains between the abrading plate and the surface of the workpiece; and operating the abrading apparatus to abrade the surface of the workpiece. Therein, the abrading plate includes a workpiece-facing layer, which workpiece-facing layer faces the surface of the workpiece and includes a metal or a polymer, and the abrasive grains have a hardness on the Mohs scale of greater than 5.
POLISHING PAD EMPLOYING POLYAMINE AND CYCLOHEXANEDIMETHANOL CURATIVES
A chemical-mechanical polishing pad comprising a thermosetting polyurethane polishing layer includes an isocyanate-terminated urethane prepolymer, a polyamine curative, and a cyclohexanedimethanol curative. The polyamine curative and the cyclohexanedimethanol curative are in a molar ratio of polyamine curative to cyclohexanedimethanol curative in a range from about 20:1 to about 1:1.
POLISHING TOOL HOLDER AND POLISHING DEVICE
A polishing device (1) includes a polishing brush (3) and a polishing brush holder (4) that holds the polishing brush (3). The polishing brush holder (4) includes a shank (6), a support mechanism (21) that has a sleeve (7) and supports the polishing brush (3) so as to be movable in an axial direction L of the shank (6), and a moving mechanism (22) that moves the polishing brush (3) in the axial direction L. The polishing brush holder (4) includes a pressure sensor (53) that detects a load (sensor detection pressure (P)) applied from a workpiece (W) to the polishing brush (3) when the workpiece (W) is polished by the polishing brush (3) supported by the support mechanism (21), and a control unit (51) that drives the moving mechanism (22) on the basis of the output (sensor detection pressure (P)) from the pressure sensor (53) to move the polishing brush (3) in the axial direction L.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GRINDING DISC TOOL
A system and method for a grinding disc, the grinding disc made out of three discs, capable of grinding in three positions such as the bottom, side, and top instead of only one position, the top disc and middle disc having an aperture such that a shaft having a washer and bar is connected to the discs by sliding the through the top disc whereby the washer is then received by the middle disc, the discs are then fastened together with the bar protruding from the discs whereby the bar may be connected to a tool such as drill, the grinding disc may then be used at multiple angles when connected to the tool.

Polishing method, brush-like grinding stone, polishing brush, and linear member aggregate
A brush-like grinding stone (3) in a polishing brush (1) includes a brush holder (6) and a linear member aggregate (7) detachably held in the brush holder (6). The linear member aggregate (7) includes a large number of bundles (51) of the linear members (50) obtained by hardening aggregated yarn of inorganic filaments impregnated with a resin, and a brush holder (70) holding ends of the bundles (51). A linear member holder (70) in the linear member aggregate (7) is detachably attached to each of a plurality of holding holes (68) that is open in one side in an axial line direction L. In a case where any of the linear member aggregates has a failure, such as breakage, only the failed linear member aggregate needs to be replaced. Thus, it is not necessary to discard the entire brush-like grinding stone. Consequently, the polishing cost can be reduced.
Porous polymeric polishing bristles and methods for their manufacture
Polishing media in the form of bristles made from a porous polymer-based material, apparatus and systems including the media, and methods of forming and using the media, apparatus, and systems are disclosed. A method of manufacturing bristles for use in polishing a workpiece which includes a non-planar surface includes the steps of combining a liquid polymer material and a foaming agent to form a foamed polymeric material, and separating the foamed polymeric material into a plurality of bristles. The foaming agent is configured to impart a porosity to the polymeric material, where the porosity is characterized by a density in the range of 0.3 to 1.2 g/cm.sup.3.
