A portable food handling device including a flexible strip having a body portion and a first and second end region, the body portion bent into a closed loop configuration to define an interior space configured to receive foodstuffs therein. Such a portable food handling device can include a feeder that can rotate to linearly advance the foodstuff in a bite-by-bite manner into the user's mouth. The foodstuff is thus incrementally exposed so that it can be directly eaten in a sanitary manner without using eating accessories, such as plates and/or utensils, as well as without one's hands directly touching and contaminating the foodstuff to prevent the spread of disease and pandemics.

A food handling device includes a holder having an interior chamber extending along a longitudinal axis, and an extension housing detachably mounted on the holder and having an interior compartment for receiving and for holding the foodstuff. An adjuster for adjusting the volume of a receptacle which includes a floor dimensioned to be complementary received by the receptacle, and, a displacement mechanism for displacing the floor relative the receptacle, wherein the volume of the receptacle is adjusted when actuating the displacement mechanism thereby displacing the floor relative the receptacle.

A retention device for a low-structure food item and method of operation for holding a low-structure food, such as a bun-less sandwich, during preparation, holding, and consumption. The retention device comprises a pair of flat panels having spikes arranged on one side. The panels sandwich the food item above and below to provide a border that supports the food item while held and consumed. The panels have spikes on one side that orient towards the food item to penetrate the food item. The spikes maintain lateral stability of the food item during consumption. In operation, the panels press down on the food item from opposing sides, causing the spikes to penetrate the food item.

Systems are provided for storing and serving a food product. The systems can include a base portion, a top portion, and a mechanism for raising and lowering the food product relative to the base portion, and are configured to prevent spillage and/or leakage of any portion of the food product during storage and consumption of the food product.
