Implant extractor

An implant extractor including a shaft body and a telescoping push rod extending from the shaft body. An adjustor is engaged with the telescoping push rod for adjusting a length of the telescoping push rod. A support arm extends laterally away from the shaft body and a jaw assembly extends from the support arm. The jaw assembly includes a jaw moveable between a locking position and an unlocking position, and a rocker arm operatively engaged with the telescoping push rod and the jaw. The implant extractor provides a line of force spaced from and substantially parallel to an implant to be extracted. As a consequence, there is substantial clearance for an extension handle such as a C-frame or the like which is oftentimes needed to dislodge the implant from surrounding bone. In addition, the implant extractor is capable of gripping a wide range of sizes of hip stem implant trunnions.

An apparatus for loading a crossbow includes a first member having a first portion defining a first handle and a second portion defining a first hollow semi-cylinder. A second member has a third portion defining a second handle and a fourth portion defining a second hollow semi-cylinder. The first and second members are rotatable with respect to each other about an axis. The first member is selectively rotatable with respect to the second member about the axis between a first position and a second position. The first hollow semi-cylinder and the second hollow semi-cylinder cooperate to define a hollow cylinder when the first member is in the first position with respect to the second member. The first hollow semi-cylinder and the second hollow semi-cylinder are separated when the first member is in the second position with respect to the second member.

Gripping Hand Tools

Various embodiments of pliers and pipe wrenches are provided. Wire cutters enable a finger pivot hole to enhance the grasp of the wire cutters while rotating the tool and/or stripping wire. Pipe wrenches include different configurations of teeth to improve durability and grip on a workpiece. Pliers are provided with axial teeth to enhance gripping a workpiece in different directions. Pliers are provided with selectable mechanical advantages so that a user may select the mechanical advantage desirable for a particular application.

Multi-function tool with laminated plier jaws

A multi-purpose tool includes a first handle, a second handle, and a laminated plier jaw assembly coupled to the first handle and the second handle. The laminated plier jaw assembly includes a first outer layer, a second outer layer, an inner layer, and a pin. The first outer layer defines a first aperture. The second outer layer defines a second aperture. The inner layer is positioned between and is coupled to the first outer layer and the second outer layer. The inner layer defines a slot having a narrow portion positioned between a first wide portion and a second wide portion. The pin extends at least partially through the first aperture, the second aperture, and the slot. The first outer layer, the second outer layer, and the inner layer cooperate to define a pair of jaws that rotate relative to one another about an axis of rotation.

Cutting pliers

Cutting pliers include a first plier body and a second plier body. The first plier body includes a support end and a first handle coupled to each other. The second plier body includes a cutting end and a second handle coupled to each other. The first handle and the second handle are rotationally coupled by a connecting shaft. The support end and the cutting end cooperatively form jaws for cutting a pipe. The support end comprises a convex arcuate surface for supporting a pipe. The cutting end comprises two clamping arms and a blade. The blade is arranged between the two clamping arms. When the jaws are closed, a clamping end of the clamping arms abuts against the pipe, the pipe on the arcuate support surface is squeezed and deformed along the arcuate support surface to form an arcuate pipe, and the blade abuts against the arcuate pipe.

JAW ENGAGEMENT ASSIST SYSTEM

An apparatus for gripping and pulling a wire strand. The apparatus is carried by a cylinder assembly attached to a frame. The cylinders provide force to pull the strand. Jaws are situated in a jaw block, and are tapered such that movement of the jaw block by the cylinders will tend to force the jaws closer to one another within a tapered cavity. Movable, spring-loaded J-rods are provided to retain the jaws within the jaw block when desired. The J-rods can be rotated to a position which does not retain the jaws when the wire strand is being added to, or removed from, the apparatus.
