Tool with multi-component rings for rotating an object
11766766 · 2023-09-26 ·

A tool for rotating an object includes an assembly comprising an inner ring and an outer ring wherein each of the rings include multiple components which can be moved relative to one another between a first condition which accommodates the positioning of the assembly about the object to be rotated and a second condition at which the multiple components of each of the rings form the annular shape of the inner or outer ring to which the multiple components correspond. When the rings are arranged in the second condition, the inner ring is capable of rotating relative to and within a radial plane of the outer ring. In addition, a gear arrangement is connected to the assembly for transferring rotational forces applied from a power tool to the inner ring so that rotation of the inner ring relative to the outer ring effects the rotation of the object desired to be rotated.

Tool for driving a fastener

A hand tool for driving a fastener is provided. The hand tool includes gearing that interconnects a splined socket to a rotatable or trigger actuator and increases a rotational speed of the splined socket relative to the actuator. The hand tool may include a power tool receiver or an independent motor to drive rotation of the splined socket to advance or retract a fastener from a threaded shaft. By increasing the speed and conserving rotational inertia, the hand tool reduces the time to secure a fastener on a threaded shaft. A rotatable nut is provided. The rotatable nut can slideably orient along a first axis and threadedly orient along a second axis to fasten to an adjacent surface.

A bit holder for holding a bit for coupling the bit with a drive tool, wherein the bit holder comprises a receiving unit which is configured for receiving the bit, a tool coupling which is configured for coupling with the drive tool, and an impact load protection unit which is configured for protecting from an impact load which is acting on the bit holder, in particular on a fixing sleeve of the bit holder, when impinging the bit holder on an anchoring base, when an attachment element which is to be driven by the bit, the drive tool and the bit holder, is inserted into the anchoring base.

Lockable drive socket adapter

A lockable adapter is configured to selectively couple a drive socket to a power tool. The lockable adapter includes a shaft configured to couple the lockable adapter to the power tool for the power tool to rotate the lockable adapter about an axis, a drive member movable along the axis relative to the shaft, and a retaining member supported by the drive member. The drive member is configured to interface with the drive socket to support the drive socket on the lockable adapter. When the lockable adapter is in a locked state, a portion of the retaining member protrudes beyond a surface of the drive member such that the retaining member is configured to secure the drive socket to the drive member. When the lockable adapter is in an unlocked state, the retaining member is configured to allow for removal of the drive socket from the drive member.

Motor Starting Assembly

A motor starting assembly for starting a pull start motor includes a cup that is attachable to a flywheel of a pull start motor. A cylinder is insertable into the cup and the cylinder engages the cup when the cylinder is rotated in a first direction. In this way the cylinder can rotate the crankshaft of the pull start motor for starting the pull start motor. The cylinder disengages the cup when the when the rotational speed of the cup exceeds the rotational speed of the cylinder. In this way the cylinder facilitate the pull start motor to run without rotating the cylinder. An adapter is releasably attachable to the cylinder and a power drill thereby facilitating the power drill to rotate the cylinder when the power drill is turned on for starting the pull start motor.

Disengaging socket extension

A socket extension assembly adapted to be driven by a power tool is disclosed. The shell surrounds a connector and drive subassembly that are fixedly attached to one another and in axial alignment. A biasing member is interposed between the shell and subassembly to provide disengagement of the drive and shell in a natural state, and engagement and transmission of rotation when axial force is applied to mate the drive and shell. This enables a fastener to be loaded into the socket as usual and hand-started while the fastener is already loaded into the socket. After confirmation that the threads are properly and sufficiently aligned and engaged into the mating threads, the fastening process can be completed by applying axial pressure to transmit the rotational force from the power tool via the bit and the drive to the socket stem.
