IMPACT DRIVER SCREW DRIVING DEVICE WITH DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
20200198103 · 2020-06-25 ·

An impact driver screw driving device with depth adjustment has a floating sleeve that surrounds a screw driving mechanism. A floating sleeve spring provides a constant bias between a top of the floating sleeve and a top of the screw driving mechanism. A depth adjustment sleeve is threadedly connected to a lower end of the floating sleeve. The floating sleeve and the depth adjustment sleeve are free to rotate independently of the screw driving device so concussive force of the impact driver does not change a driven screw depth adjustment set by manually rotating the depth adjustment sleeve while gripping the floating sleeve.

Tool for the adjustment of a prosthetic anatomical device
10603169 · 2020-03-31 · ·

An adjustment tool enables manipulation of a prosthetic anatomical device such as an annuloplasty ring. The tool includes a compression member which is operative for retarding rotation of the adjustment shaft to preclude inadvertent rotation thereof during use of the tool by the surgeon. A locking device is associated with the adjustment tool to enable the releasable attachment of the tool to the anatomical device during its adjustment by manipulation of the tool. The locking device is oriented into operative and inoperative positions by the engagement and disengagement of locking elements. A scale may be provided on the adjustment tool to assist a surgeon in determining the size or amount of adjustment to the size of the anatomical device during its adjustment.

System and method for installing a manifold plug

The present disclosure relates to an insert and system of installing the same. The insert includes a tapered core and a cylinder. The core releasably secures to an installation device which includes a depth stop or a depth control to control the installation depth of the insert. The insert may be provided in a tray that allows for easier handling of the inserts and installation thereof in installation holes, for example in a hydraulic manifold. In some cases, the core includes a threaded hole to releasably secure the insert to the installation device, thus allowing the installation device to pull the core into the cylinder. The core and cylinder may be made of metallic materials such as steels, steel alloys and others. In some cases the insert can withstand blow out pressures of 40,000 psi or higher.

Successive screw fastener

Various embodiments of power tool and method of operating same are described. The power tool may include a first position sensor, a second position sensor, a third position sensor, and a controller. The first, second, and third position sensors may each generate a signal indicative of a distance between the respective position sensor and a workpiece. The controller may determine one or more angles of the power tool with respect to the workpiece based on the first, second, and third signal and present an indication as to whether the one or more angles are within a predetermined range. The controller may further obtain a depth measurement based on the first signal, the second signal, and the third signal and generate, based on the obtained depth measurement, one or more control signals that control operation of the power tool.

Fastener drive and release system, fastener therefor and method

A fastener drive and release system is used with a rotational driver to drive a fastener having a washer into a workpiece. The system includes a body, a drive assembly, a tool head and a release tip. The drive assembly includes a rotating drive portion with a first engaging member and a driven portion having a second engaging member. The driven portion reciprocates between an engaged position in which the first and second engaging members engage one another and a disengaged position. The driven portion includes a drive head to engage the fastener. The tool head is disposed at an end of the body, through which the drive head extends. The release tip is disposed on the tool head and has resilient fastener head receiving and force absorbing portions. The fastener is driven into the workpiece by rotational movement imparted to the driven portion. When the fastener is driven into the workpiece the force absorbing portion compresses and the driven portion disengages from the drive portion to stop rotation of the fastener.

NOSEPIECE AND MAGAZINE FOR POWER SCREWDRIVER

A magazine is configured to be removably coupled to a power tool housing of a power tool. The magazine has a housing configured to be rotatably attachable to the power tool housing. An advancing mechanism is received in the magazine housing, and is configured to advance a strip of collated fasteners into position to be driven by the power tool. An indexing ring has a plurality of recesses and is configured to be non-rotatably attached to the power tool housing. A detent is biased to removably engage one of the plurality of recesses, and is configured to be non-rotatably attached to the magazine housing. The detent removably engages the recesses to allow for indexed tool-free rotation of the magazine housing relative to the power tool housing.
