Multifunction Reaction Washer and Stack accessed by Slim Reaction Socket
20190136902 · 2019-05-09 ·

Accurate reaction socket access within an outer washer diameter is provided via a number of tool access castles extending from a stepped bushing and serration top, which in turn provides low friction during initial tightening and securing after final loading of a nut/bolt. Bottom serration slipping during initial tightening and thread locking during initial loosening are eliminated by the reaction washer stacked on top and in contact with a support washer via helical ramps and ramp mates. During initial tightening or loosening, the ramp mates slide up or down the helical ramps whereby an axial load on the nut/bolt is ramped up or down prior to screwing it on the main thread. A clamp ring or ramp indenters may secure the two washers. An interposition washer may extend the axial reaction range of the washer stack. Direct tension indicators may be combined with the ramp indenters.

Dual Positionable Fastener Installation Tool Adaptor

A dual positionable adaptor for a fastener driver assembly employs a tandem guide assembly mounted to a guide head which has an entry reference surface defining an opening for a fastener to provide a proper location and entry angle for the fastener. A pair of wings each defines a pair of reference engagement edges which engage either an upper horizontal member or a lower horizontal member. The wings, together with the entry reference surface, define a proper entry location and angle for connecting a vertical stud to either an upper plate or a lower plate. The selected adaptor position is achieved by securing the adaptor in one of two angular positions relative to the tube axis of the fastener driver assembly. The wings are also affixed with squirrel claws to lock the adaptor in place for installing the fastener. The adaptor also includes flush indicators to indicate that the proper flush position of the reference surface against the vertical member is achieved. The wings are independently pivotal to accommodate situations wherein the tandem wing configuration cannot be employed. The fastener is retained within the adaptor fastener channel via a magnet assembly.

Multiple Entry Angle Adaptor With Locator for Fastener Installation Tool

A fastener installation assembly has a head with a fastener opening and a connector for connecting the head to a driving tool so that a fastener can be driven through the hole. A guide assembly with a locator is pivotally mounted to the head. The locator may be removable from the guide assembly and movable so that its locator surface is movable relative to a guide surface of the guide assembly. The locator may include a locator guide that is movable relative to the locator so that a position of an end of the locator guide relative to the locator surface is adjustable. The locator guide may be removable from the locator. The guide assembly is pivotable between multiple angular positions to vary the angle at which a fastener is driven into building materials which the guide assembly and locator engage.
