HYDRAULIC TORQUE WRENCH
A hydraulic torque wrench (10), comprising: a head (11), having an input for pressurised hydraulic fluid; a rotatable connector, for connecting to an item to be rotated by the hydraulic torque wrench (10); and a drive mechanism (12), driven by hydraulic fluid introduced at the input and tending to rotate the rotatable connection. A reaction arm (1) mounted on the head (11) through a mounting (16) which selectively allows rotational motion of the reaction arm (1) relative to the head (11) about an axis, the reaction arm (1) arranged to react against a surface when the drive mechanism (12) rotates the rotatable connection. In which the mounting (16) comprises: a splined connection, comprising complementary splines (20) on the head (11) and the reaction arm (1), which permits linear motion of the reaction arm (1) relative to the head (11) along the axis from a first position where the splines (20) of the splined connection interengage so as to prevent relative rotation of the reaction arm (1) and the head (11), and a second position where the splines (20) of the splined connection do not interengage and allow relative rotation of the head (11) and the reaction arm (1); and a rotational travel limiter, which limits relative rotational motion of the reaction arm (1) and the head (11). Reduces likeliness that the reaction arm (1) and head (11) will unexpectedly. unwantedly or undesirably separate.
APPARATUS FOR TIGHTENING THREADED FASTENERS
An offset drive link assembly for transmission and multiplication of torque from a power tool for tightening or loosening a threaded fastener includes: a drive force input assembly having a drive force input engagement to receive a first turning force from the device acting in a first direction; a drive force output assembly, operatively engageable with the drive force input engagement, having a drive force output engagement to transfer the first turning force to the fastener; a reaction force assembly having a reaction force input engagement to receive a second turning force from the device in a second direction and a reaction force output engagement including: a recess to transfer the second turning force to a stationary object formed as a washer under the threaded fastener nonrotatably engageable with the recess; and a removably and rotatably engagable reaction force transfer fixture formed as a reaction arm.
Surgical tool
A surgical tool for removing a portion of an implant is provided that includes a housing, a motor contained within the housing and coupled to the housing, and an output shaft having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the motor and the distal end has an opening configured to rotateably engage an implant. The surgical tool further includes a counter-torque sleeve extending around the output shaft having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the housing and the distal end is configured to couple to the implant relative to the counter-torque sleeve. Upon a rotational force to the implant, the forces transmitted by the output shaft and the counter-torque sleeve are balanced by the coupling of the output shaft and counter-torque sleeve through the housing.
Multifunction Reaction Washer and Stack accessed by Slim Reaction Socket
Accurate reaction socket access within an outer washer diameter is provided via a number of tool access castles extending from a stepped bushing and serration top, which in turn provides low friction during initial tightening and securing after final loading of a nut/bolt. Bottom serration slipping during initial tightening and thread locking during initial loosening are eliminated by the reaction washer stacked on top and in contact with a support washer via helical ramps and ramp mates. During initial tightening or loosening, the ramp mates slide up or down the helical ramps whereby an axial load on the nut/bolt is ramped up or down prior to screwing it on the main thread. A clamp ring or ramp indenters may secure the two washers. An interposition washer may extend the axial reaction range of the washer stack. Direct tension indicators may be combined with the ramp indenters.
Load measurement system for hydraulic torque wrench

The wrench may generally include a housing; a drive element for engaging the workpiece; a drive actuator for transmitting a torque to the drive element; and a gauge coupled to at least one of the housing and the drive actuator, the gauge being configured to detect a characteristic indicative of a torque exerted by the drive element to the workpiece. The wrench may include a sensor configured to detect rotation of the drive element.
SOCKET INSERT ADAPTER AND METHOD OF USE
