Valve member with improved fluid flow and control
A valve assembly is provided. The valve assembly includes a valve body having a valve chamber and a plurality of ports into the valve chamber. The plurality of ports include a first port, a second port, and a third port. The first port and the second port are aligned with a common axis and located on opposite sides of the valve chamber. The system further includes a valve member located within the valve chamber. The valve member is a rotatable ball having a fluid passage that extends through the ball and includes an opening at the end of the ball. The fluid passage is substantially oval-shaped when viewed at the opening in a direction parallel to the fluid passage. The valve assembly further includes a valve stem that is coupled to a valve member and has a first end that extends from the valve body.
Method of using a mounting tool to install an H-Seal in a bearing
A method of inserting an H-Seal in a bearing, the H-Seal having two ends, two upper lips, two lower lips and a vertical flange positioned between the bearing that secures the upper and lower lips together, the bearing having seal faces, inner and outer rings and a gap therebetween. The method provides including an insertion tool assembly, priming the H-Seal into the insertion tool, sliding the tool with the H-Seal loaded therein within a slot, placing the lower lips back on their respective face, allowing the lower lips to recover their initial shape. The tool moves the lower lips to a vertical position (T shape), inserts the seal between the rings and the lower lips recover their initial shape and places them naturally back on their respective faces.
Method of manufacturing and manufacturing apparatus for a ring member attached product
A method of manufacturing a component and a component manufacturing apparatus to attach an attached part in a predetermined posture to a ring-shaped channel formed in an outer circumference of a component main body. While being held by holding portions, a ring-shaped seal body is placed in contact with a tapered portion and has its diameter expanded to at least the outer diameter of the component main body. The seal body elastically deforms from the expanded-diameter state so that its diameter reduces and is attached to the attachment channel in the outer circumferential surface of the component main body while being guided by the holding portions.
Method for mounting at least one sealing ring on a camshaft in a bearing line of an internal combustion engine, and camshaft having at least one sealing ring mounted in such a way
A method for mounting a camshaft in a bearing line of a cylinder head cover of an internal combustion engine may involve mounting a sealing ring in a groove extending radially circumferentially on an outer diameter of the camshaft. The sealing ring may be at least partly formed of an elastically deformable polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The method may further involve sliding a calibrating tool having a rotationally symmetrical opening onto the camshaft or sliding the camshaft into the calibrating tool. A smallest inside diameter of the rotationally symmetrical opening may be greater than an outside diameter of the camshaft in a region of the groove but less than an outside diameter of the sealing ring. Consequently, the sealing ring is pressed into the groove and is frictionally and interlockingly held in the groove.
HAMMER FOR INSTALLING A GASKET INTO A JOINT BETWEEN TWO PIPES
A hammer for installing a gasket into a joint between two pipes, the hammer comprising two opposed substantially rectangular, non-square strike surfaces which are rotationally offset from one another by 90 degrees such that an appropriate substantially rectangular, non-square strike surface may be selected by the user and applied to a gasket by simply rotating the hammer in the user's hands without requiring the user to relocate around the gasket.
H-seal mounting tool
A tool for inserting an H-Seal in a bearing includes a vertical part assembly having a top portion, a bottom portion, and a freely rolling disc. A first interconnecting portion is configured to engage a second interconnecting portion, the first interconnecting portion configured to receive the vertical part assembly through an opening in the first interconnecting portion. A gripping element connected to the top portion. A rolling disc mounted to the bottom portion of the vertical part assembly. First and second sliding pads having first and second evolutive guides that vary in shape from top to bottom and from back to front. The evolutive guides are configured to pass the H-Seal between the stages of being in a free state with lower lips opened outward, to pre-inserted into the bearing, to inserted into the bearing, to coming down into the bearing, to the lower lips opening outward.
Packing tool and process
An improved packing tool and process includes a mobile packing gland having a first end with a large opening that accepts a ring of packing material. The packing gland tapers down from the first end to a second end which is arranged within a static gland that receives the packing material which comprises a seal. A ring of packing material is arranged within the mobile packing gland and is inserted into a static gland with a pusher. The pusher exerts uniform pressure about the ring of packing material to seat it within the static gland. Thereafter the pusher is withdrawn from the mobile packing gland and successive rings of packing material are stacked within the static gland by repeating the process.
RING INSTALLATION DEVICE
A ring installation device for installing a ring to a part includes an inner mandrel which is tapered in order to expand the ring. An outer mandrel is tubular such that the inner mandrel is received within the outer mandrel and such that the inner mandrel is moveable within the outer mandrel along an axis. A ring stripper is tubular such that the outer mandrel is receive within the ring stripper and such that the outer mandrel is moveable within the inner mandrel along the axis. The inner mandrel is moveable along the axis relative to the outer mandrel and the ring stripper from an inner mandrel first position to an inner mandrel second position. The outer mandrel is moveable by the inner mandrel along the axis relative to the ring stripper from an outer mandrel first position to an outer mandrel second position.
PACKING MATERIAL COMPACTION AND EXTRACTION TOOL
A dual-purpose tool configured both for compacting packing material around a rod, pipe, or axle, such as in a stuffing box, and for extracting such packing material. The tool may have a compaction end configured with a packing ram for compressing packing material into a stuffing box, or otherwise compressing the material around a rod. Additionally, the tool may have an extraction end with one or more tapered cleats configured for driving into compacted packing material to loosen and extract the packing material. The dual-purpose tool may be relatively easy to use, comprising two hand-held components that may be nestably positioned on opposing sides of a rod. Each component of the tool may have an elongated semi-circular shape extending between a compaction end and an extraction end. Each component may further have a handle by which a user may manipulate the component to perform packing and extracting operations.
TOOL FOR EXTRACTING AND INSTALLING A SEAL FROM AN ENGINE HOUSING HAVING A SHAFT
The present invention is a tool for extracting and installing a seal or gasket from an engine housing having a shaft such as an outboard boat motor having a propeller shaft. The present invention allows the seal to be removed from or installed around the shaft, without the need to remove or disassemble the engine housing. The present invention may include a central body portion, a first cylindrical body portion having a proximal end that is carried by the central body portion, a second cylindrical body portion having a proximal end that is carried by the central body portion, a bore hole that extends through the first cylindrical body portion, the central body portion and the second cylindrical body portion and a plurality of alignment holes for guiding a fastener to the seal without contacting the shaft so that the seal may be secured to the tool, the alignment holes.
