A device for applying an adhesive-backed elongated seal (e.g., a weatherstrip seal) to a surface of a substrate. The device comprises a release liner removal tool having a stripper portion. The stripper portion comprises a spacer and a release liner guide surface. The spacer has a leading edge, an angled trailing edge, a central axis and a thickness profile that separates the adhesive on the back of the seal from the substrate surface while allowing the body of the seal to contact the substrate surface, when the stripper portion is positioned between the seal and the surface. The angled trailing edge has a transverse radius of curvature allowing the release liner to be removed from the adhesive, bent-backwards-over the trailing edge, and pulled-off along a portion of the guide surface, while the seal is adhered along its length to the surface.

A sealant smoothing tool for smoothing sealant in a gap between two aircraft parts is disclosed including a main body having a base surface for abutting sliding along a top surface of the aircraft parts, a spatula holder for holding a spatula, the spatula holder being configured to movably mount the spatula relative to the main body, and a resilient biasing member, configured to provide a biasing against the spatula or the spatula holder, such that the spatula supplies a biasing force to the sealant. An aircraft having two parts sealed by the sealant smoothing tool, a kit of parts including a sealant smoothing tool and one or more spatulas, and a method of smoothing sealant to seal a gap between two aircraft parts are also disclosed.

An apparatus for positioning a strap around an object includes a handle for being grasped by a user of the apparatus. The apparatus further includes an arm portion having a first end coupled to the handle portion and an opposite second end having a coupling mechanism coupled at or nearby for selectively coupling a portion of the strap to the second end of the arm portion. When the handle portion is grasped by the user of the apparatus adjacent a side of the object the arm portion is sized and configured to be movable among: a first positioning wherein the arm portion extends outward from the handle and the user such that the second end of the arm portion extends a distance beyond a far side of the object, and a second positioning wherein the arm portion wraps at least partially around the object.

A mounting device is useable with a strip arrangement comprising a profile strip arrangeable or arranged at an edge area of a window pane of a motor vehicle and comprising a transport protection strip, wherein the transport protection strip is arranged at least with a portion of its cross section in a receiving area of the profile strip. The mounting device has a guide-in area configured to guide a free end of the strip arrangement into the mounting device, and a separation area configured to separate the transport protection strip from the profile strip.

A device for coating workpieces preferably consisting at least in parts of wood, wood materials, plastic, aluminium or the like, comprises: a feed device for feeding a coating material; a pressing device for pressing the coating material onto a surface of a workpiece; a conveying device for inducing a relative movement between the pressing device and the respective workpiece; and an activation device for activating an adhesive on a coating material fed in the feed device and/or for activating an adhesive on a surface of a workpiece to be coated. The activation device comprises at least one supply line for supplying an activation medium as well as a nozzle body having an inlet duct and an outlet region. The activation device comprises at least one acoustic element that is configured to reduce the sound pressure resulting from the flow of the activation medium and/or to effect a frequency shift.

An installation tool for installing a seal includes a shaft and a seal-engaging component coupled with the shaft. During an installation of the seal, the seal-engaging component is adapted to couple with the seal. The seal-engaging component includes a first surface and a second surface. The seal-engaging component also includes a first annular ring extending from the first surface and adapted to engage with the seal for coupling the seal with the seal-engaging component. The seal-engaging component further includes a second annular ring extending from the first surface. The installation tool also includes a sliding hammer adapted to slide along a length of the shaft. During the installation of the seal, the sliding hammer is adapted to apply a force to the seal-engaging component for installing the seal at a seal installation location.

A windshield seal heating method includes the positioning of a heating unit along a seam formed between a windshield and a window opening in a vehicle. The heating unit is turned on such that the heating unit emits heat on the windshield adjacent to the seam such that heat is transferred to adhesive which secures the windshield to the vehicle. The adhesive is heated to a temperature causing the adhesive to soften and facilitate the cutting of the adhesive.

A film pasting tool is used to paste one surface of a film on a member-to-be-pasted at a predetermined position. The tool comprises a flexible tabular body, a first adhesive part, a front surface thereof being adhesive, provided on one surface of the body, and a second adhesive part, a front surface thereof being adhesive, provided on a part of a region other than a region where the first adhesive part is provided out of one surface of the body. An other surface of the film is pastable on the front surface of the second adhesive part, and when the other surface of the film is pasted on the front surface of the second adhesive part, the front surface of the first adhesive part is exposed in such a manner that the front surface of the first adhesive part is pastable on the member-to-be-pasted.

Provided is a tool for mounting a seal in a groove or gap on a wind turbine, the tool including: a roller configured for rolling along the seal and in contact therewith, and a hammer unit configured for exerting a hammering action on the roller to push the seal or a portion thereof into the groove or gap as the roller rolls along the seal, wherein the tool includes a battery powering the hammer unit. Advantageously, the tool combines a rolling action with a hammering action to provide for easy mounting of the seal on the wind turbine.

A tool for seating a wear liner into a first groove of a fan case of a gas turbine engine includes a body, a handle, and a first guide foot. The body includes a first end and a second end. The handle is connected to and extends from the body. The first guide foot is connected to and extends from the first end of the body. The first guide foot includes a first end connected to the body and a second end opposite from the first end of the first guide foot. The second end of the first guide foot is rounded and includes a chamfered portion.
