A mechanical timer mechanism can include a driven gear mounted to a rotary damper and a drive gear operably coupled to the driven gear. In bump mode, movement of an auxiliary trigger to its actuating position can initially move the drive gear from a home position into its wind-up position. Thereafter, a contact trip can continue to move the drive gear to its wind-up position and an actuator of a principal trigger to its actuating position each time the contact trip is actuated, unless the timing mechanism has timed-out between actuations. In sequential mode, the drive gear can be moved into a timer lock-out position which holds the contact trip in a bypass position in which the contact trip will not engage the actuator of the auxiliary trigger unless the auxiliary trigger is moved to its actuating position before actuation of the contact trip.

A driving operation is performed in the continuous drive mode in response to the contact arm moving to the retracted position and the trigger moving to the on-position in any order, and in the single drive mode in response to the contact arm moving to the retracted position and the trigger moving to the on-position in the stated order.

The pneumatic tool comprises a throttle part configured to throttle the flow rate of air flowing into or flowing out from the timer piston cylinder, and an adjustment part configured to adjust an operating time of the timer piston.

A powered fastener driver includes a first cylinder, a first piston positioned within the first cylinder, a second cylinder in fluid communication with the first cylinder, and a second piston positioned within the second cylinder. The first piston is moveable between a top-dead-center position and at or near a bottom-dead-center position and the second piston is moveable between a top-dead-center position and a bottom-dead-center position to initiate a fastener driving cycle. A drive blade is coupled to the second piston for movement therewith and a drive mechanism is configured to drive the first piston between the top-dead-center position and at or near the bottom-dead-center position. The drive mechanism includes a crank arm that rotates less than 360 degrees for moving the first piston from at or near the bottom-dead-center position and the top-dead-center position and then back to at or near the bottom-dead-center position to complete the fastener driving cycle.

A driver including: an ejection part to which a fastener is supplied; a driver blade which moves from a first position toward a second position and drives the fastener into a driven member; and a rack provided to the driver blade. The driver further includes: a rotary component engaging with the rack and moving the driver blade from the second position to the first position; and a lock plate engaging with the rack. The driver blade moves from the second position to the first position while the rotary component rotates once, the rotary component is released from engaging with the rack after the driver blade moves from the second position to the first position, and moves from the first position to the second position, and the lock plate is engageable with the rack when the driver blade stops before reaching the second position from the first position.

The dustproof plate has a mounting surface facing the machine body unit, an exterior surface that is opposite to the mounting surface and prevents foreign matters from entering the machine body unit, and a through hole that extends through the mounting surface and the exterior surface, that permits the muzzle unit to extend fittingly therethrough, and that is complementary in shape with a contour of a cross section of the muzzle unit. The two fastening members extend from the mounting surface and are detachably connected to the machine body unit to secure the dustproof plate between the machine body unit and the muzzle unit.
