Hammer with Linearly Adjustable Claw
20220184788 · 2022-06-16 ·

A hammer includes a handle, a head assembly affixed to the handle, and a claw assembly slidably disposed on the handle. The handle includes apertures interspaced linearly along the length of the handle. The head assembly includes a throat and a striking face. The claw assembly includes a claw, an annular sleeve slidably disposed around the handle for enabling linear adjustment of the claw assembly along the length of the handle, and a ratcheting lever coupled to the sleeve for adjusting the position of the claw relative to the head assembly during operation. The ratcheting lever includes a spring-biased locking pin for removably engaging any one of the apertures to selectively secure the claw assembly to the handle in a desired position and a depressible release arm for releasing the spring-biased locking pin from the apertures to enable the claw assembly to slide along the length of the handle.

Hammer

A hammer is provided that includes a handle, a head, a striking insert, and a claw. The hammer provides for a head with a keyed hole to couple to a keyed projection on a striking insert. The head also includes a dovetail projection that couples to the dovetail connection of the claw. Each component may comprise a different material. For example, the striking insert and the claw comprise one material, and the handle and the head comprise another material. In some embodiments, a slotted punch with a magnetic retainer creates a bore through the face of the head and the striking insert to support a fastener (e.g., a nail) within the head.

Multi-tool for utility engineers

The present disclosure includes a multi-tool including a handle having a first and a second end opposite the first end and a hammer face attached at the first end of the handle. A pry bar is attached at the first end of the handle along with a lifting hook. A vault key is attached at the second end of the handle. The lifting hook may extend from the first end of the handle or may be formed as a groove or cutout in the first end of the handle or in the pry bar.

ERGONOMIC GRIP FOR STRIKING TOOL
20220176539 · 2022-06-09 ·

A striking hand tool includes a grip component where an external surface has a front arc half and a rear arc half, wherein an area of the grip is smaller in a first cross sectional plane further from a head of the tool than a second plane closer to the head portion. A ρ value of the front arc half in the first cross sectional plane is less than approximately 0.45. A measurement from a first axis to a frontmost point in the first cross sectional plane is between 17.5 mm and 19 mm. A ρ value of the front arc half in the second cross sectional plane is less than approximately 0.5. A measurement from the first axis to a frontmost point in the second cross sectional plane is between 18.5 mm and 20 mm. Methods of manufacturing and striking hand tools having desirous durometer measurements are also disclosed.
