Percussion unit

A percussion unit for a rotary hammer and/or percussion hammer includes a control unit that is configured for open-loop and/or closed loop control of a pneumatic percussion mechanism. In at least one operating state in which the control unit changes from an idle mode to a percussion mode, the control unit is configured to adjust at least one operating parameter temporarily to a starting value.

CONTROL METHOD FOR A HAMMER DRILL

The control method for a hammer drill (1) provides the following steps. During basic operation, the motor (5) rotates at an operating speed for the drilling operation with chiseling action in order to rotationally drive the tool holder (2) and to drive the hammer mechanism (6) with a nominal striking power. The torque coupling (21) is monitored with the aid of a sensor (26). If a disengagement of the torque coupling (21) occurs, the striking power of the hammer mechanism (6) is reduced to below 10% of the nominal striking power during a disengagement of the torque coupling (21), and the torque coupling (21) is driven. When the disengagement of the torque coupling (21) ends, the striking power of the hammer mechanism (6) is increased to the nominal striking power and the torque coupling (21) is driven at the operating speed for the drilling operation with chiseling action.

An impact tool includes a motor, a first hammer, an anvil, and a second hammer. The first hammer is configured to be rotated by driving of the motor. The anvil is configured to be hammered in a rotation direction by the first hammer. The second hammer is configured to be switchable between a state being linked and a state not being linked to the first hammer. The impact tool ensures selections of a first hammering mode in which only the first hammer hammers the anvil and a second hammering mode in which the first hammer and the second hammer hammer the anvil.

A hammer drill includes a housing, a tool holder, a hammering member, a gear, and a conversion member. The gear is switched to a first state where a rotation of the intermediate shaft is transmitted and a second state where the rotation of the intermediate shaft is not transmitted, and a mode switching member is configured to perform a switching operation of the state of the gear from an outside of the housing. The switching of the state of the gear by the mode switching member provides at least two operation modes of a hammer drill mode where the gear integrally rotates with the intermediate shaft to generate the rotation and a reciprocation of the hammering member on the tool holder and a hammer mode where the gear is separated from the rotation of the intermediate shaft to generate only the reciprocation of the hammering member to be selectable.

POWER TOOL WITH MULTIPLE MODES OF OPERATION AND ERGONOMIC HANDGRIP

A power tool includes a housing, a motor disposed in the housing, a motor controller disposed in the housing and electrically coupled to the motor, and a transmission disposed in the housing and coupled to the motor. A tool bit holder is rotatably driven by the motor via the transmission and receives a tool bit for rotatably driving threaded fasteners. A power switch and an electronic model select switch are actuatable from outside the housing and are coupled to the motor controller. The power switch controls power delivery to the motor. The electronic mode select switch is configured to select between at least a first mode of operation in which power delivery to the motor is controlled by actuation of the power switch and an electronic lock on mode in which continuous power is delivered to the motor upon a single actuation and release of the power switch.

DRIVING WORK MACHINE

A workability of a driving work machine is improved by reduction in vibration transmitted to a housing. A driving work machine 10 includes: a cylinder 21 applying a rotational force to a tip tool; a piston 33 applying a striking force to the tip tool; a driving source generating a power; a switching part 61 making switching between at least two operational states including a rotational striking state of transmitting the power as a striking force and a rotational force to the tip tool and a rotational state of transmitting the power as the rotational force but not transmitting the power as the striking force to the tip tool; and a housing 12. The cylinder 21 includes a pushing part 46 pushing the switching part 61 rearward, the switching part 61 is able to switch an operational state of the cylinder 21 by the rearward movement caused by the pushing force of the pushing part 46, and a rubber annular member 72 serving as an anti-vibration part is arranged between the pushing part 46 and the preventing part 71.

Power tool communication system

A power tool communication system including an external device including a first controller configured to transmit, via wireless communication to a power tool, configuration data including a work light duration parameter value and a work light brightness parameter value. The power tool includes a housing, a brushless direct current (DC) motor, a trigger, a work light, a wireless communication circuit configured to wirelessly communicate with the external device to receive the configuration data, and a second controller configured to control a work light duration of the work light based on the work light duration parameter value, and control a work light brightness of the work light based on the work light brightness parameter value.

Rotary hammer

A rotary hammer includes a motor, a manipulation member, a main switch, a mode-switching member, a first locking member and a second locking member. The first locking member is configured to selectively lock the manipulation member in an OFF position according to a switching position of the mode-switching member. The second locking member is configured to selectively lock the manipulation member in an ON position according to the switching position of the mode-switching member. The first locking member is allowed to lock the manipulation member in the OFF position both when a hammer mode has been selected and when a drill mode has been selected. The motor is allowed to be driven in a state in which the manipulation member is locked in the ON position by the second locking member only when the hammer mode has been selected.

Hammer drill

A hammer drill includes a housing, a first ratchet fixed to the housing, a spindle rotatably supported by the housing about an axis, and a second ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle. The second ratchet is engageable with the first ratchet in response to rearward displacement of the spindle to impart a hammering action on the spindle. The hammer drill further includes a thrust bearing having an arm extending away from the axis, and a selector ring having a post extending toward the arm. The selector ring is rotatable between a first position in which the post is engageable with the arm to limit the rearward displacement of the spindle and prevent engagement of the first and second ratchets, and a second position in which the post is misaligned with the arm to permit the rearward displacement of the spindle and engagement of the first and second ratchets.

Electric tool

Provided is an electric tool with which work efficiency can be improved. A controller of an electric tool can execute: a first control, whereby during a non-operating state after a motor has started up and before a tip tool is set to be in an operating state, the motor is driven at a slow idling rotation speed, and when the tip tool is set to be in the operating state, the motor is driven at a normal rotation speed which is higher than the slow idling rotation speed; and a second control, whereby in a case where a trigger switch has been turned off in a state where the motor is being driven at the normal rotation speed and the trigger switch is thereafter turned on again under a prescribed condition, the motor is driven at the normal rotation speed regardless of the state of the tip tool.
