The rotary hammer includes a switch, a motor, a switch manipulation member, a locking member, and a mode detecting device. The switch manipulation member includes a body, and a protrusion that is movable between a protruding position and a retracted position. The body houses a solenoid configured to operate based on a detection result of the mode detecting device. The locking member is movable between an unlock position and a lock position where the locking member holds the switch manipulation member in an ON position by abutting the protrusion in the protruding position. The protrusion is integrated with a plunger of the solenoid. The protrusion is configured to be in the protruding position when the present mode is the first mode, and in the retracted position when the present mode is the second mode.

Non-contact speed selector switch in rotary power tool
A rotary power tool includes a housing having a motor housing portion and a handle portion extending therefrom. An electric motor is positioned within the motor housing portion. The rotary power tool further includes a trigger switch configured to activate and deactivate the motor. The rotary power tool further includes a non-contact speed selector switch positioned in the housing. The non-contact speed selector switch is configured to adjust a rotational speed of the motor. The non-contact speed selector switch is separate from the trigger switch.
Procedure for detecting a transmission backlash in a power tool, in particular a hand-held power tool, and power tool
A method for detecting a transmission backlash in a hand-held power tool, the hand-held power tool comprising a drive motor that has a drive shaft, a tool spindle, and a transmission that, in respect of drive, connects the drive shaft to the tool spindle, includes actuating, in a first actuation, the drive motor at least until the value of a first variable, representing a drag torque, is at least approximately constant. The method includes, during the first actuation, determining a value of a second variable which is associated with the rotation of the drive shaft of the drive motor during the first actuation, and determining a value of a third variable, representing a transmission backlash, based upon a change in the second variable during the first actuation.
Power tool
A driver drill includes a motor housing that holds an electric motor, an axis of rotation of a rotor of the electric motor extending in a front-rear direction of the driver drill, a grip housing having an upper end connected to a lower part of the motor housing and an enlarged-part housing connected to a lower end of the grip housing and spaced from the motor housing in an up-down direction of the driver drill that is perpendicular to the front-rear direction. A torque setting of the driver drill is changeable, and the driver drill is changeable between a setting unlocked state in which the torque setting is changeable and a setting locked state in which the torque setting is not changeable.
Power tool
A rotary hammer adapted to impart axial impacts to a tool bit. The rotary hammer includes a housing, a motor supported by the housing, a spindle coupled to the motor for receiving torque from the motor, causing the spindle to rotate, a reciprocation mechanism operable to create a variable pressure air spring within the spindle, an anvil received within the spindle for reciprocation in response to the pressure of the air spring, the anvil imparting axial impacts to the tool bit, a bit retention assembly for securing the tool bit to the spindle, and an electromagnetic clutch mechanism switchable between a first state, in which the reciprocation mechanism is enabled, such that the anvil imparts axial impacts to the tool bit, and a second state, in which the reciprocation mechanism is disabled, such that the anvil ceases to impart axial impacts to the tool bit.
POWER TOOL AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ENGAGEMENT OF INTERCHANGEABLE TOOL IMPLEMENT WITH TOOL BODY
A power tool includes a tool implement and a tool base releasably attachable to the tool implement. The tool implement includes a working end that is drivable. The tool base includes a base housing, an electric motor within the base housing, a rotatable output shaft coupled to drive the working end of the tool implement when the tool base is attached to the tool implement, an engagement sensor configured to indicate positive engagement of the tool implement and the tool base, and a controller coupled to the engagement sensor and including an electronic processor. The controller is configured to enable a function of the motor in response to receiving an indication of positive engagement from the engagement sensor.
ROTARY HAMMER
A rotary hammer is adapted to impart axial impacts to a tool bit. The rotary hammer comprises a housing, a motor supported by the housing, a gearcase, and a spindle housed in the gearcase and coupled to the motor for receiving torque from the motor, causing the spindle to rotate. The rotary hammer also comprises a reciprocating impact mechanism operable to create a variable pressure air spring within the spindle. The rotary hammer also comprises a vibration damping mechanism including a base on the gearcase, a counterweight circumscribing the base, and a first spring arranged between the base and the counterweight and defining a first biasing axis that is parallel to the reciprocation axis. ROTARY POWER TOOL INCLUDING TRANSMISSION HOUSING BUSHING
A rotary power tool comprises a drive mechanism including an electric motor and a transmission, a housing enclosing at least a portion of the drive mechanism, a spindle rotatable in response to receiving torque from the drive mechanism, a first ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle, a second ratchet rotationally fixed to the housing, a sleeve bushing on an interior of the housing, and a bearing arranged between the spindle and the sleeve bushing and rotatably supporting the spindle. The bearing has an outer race. The spindle is movable relative to the housing in response to contact with a workpiece, causing the first and second ratchets to engage and the spindle to reciprocate while rotating. The outer race of the bearing moves along the sleeve bushing during reciprocation of the spindle when the first ratchet and second ratchet are engaged.
