Communication module handle

A communication module handle may include a base, a grasp, a hinge, and a detent. The hinge may connect the base and the grasp. The detent may be configured to maintain a position of the grasp relative to the base in an extended position. In response to the detent being subjected to a detent-releasing force, the detent may release the grasp from the extended position to a collapsed position. The grasp may be rotatable relative to the base by way of the hinge in the collapsed position.

Tool extensions

Illustrative embodiments of tool extensions and methods of using such tool extensions are disclosed. In at least one illustrative embodiment, a tool extension may comprise a drive core configured to transfer rotational torque from a first end to a second end opposite the first end, where the first end is configured to be removably coupled to a tool to receive rotational torque from the tool, the second end is configured to be removably coupled to a fastener to supply rotational torque to the fastener, and the drive core is bendable between the first and second ends. The tool extension may further comprise a shell surrounding the drive core and containing an electro-rheological (ER) fluid configured to transition between a flexible state in which the shell permits bending of the drive core and a rigid state in which the shell resists bending of the drive core.

A cleaning tool includes a shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end, where the shaft has a handle at the proximal end and a tool head at the distal end; and a sock removably mountable on the tool head. The tool head may include a through hole, and the sock may include a fastener with a first coupling member and a second coupling member, where the first and second coupling members are constructed to align with and couple through the through hole on the tool head. Alternatively the tool head includes one or more coupling members and the sock includes one or more corresponding coupling members constructed align with and couple with the one or more coupling members on the tool head.

Manually operated extendable cleaning device

A manually operated cleaning device extends reach and cleaning functionality to low clearance areas. The cleaning device has a base foot portion including at least one base foot portion cleaning surface. A flexible extendable cleaning implement is attached at one end to the base foot region. A flexible extendable cleaning implement cleaning surface is attached to at least one side of the flexible extendable cleaning implement. A handle is attached via a pivotal mounting to either the base foot portion or the flexible extendable cleaning implement. A releasable fastener operatively couples the flexible extendable cleaning implement to the base foot portion and allows extension and retraction of the flexible extendable cleaning implement between a stowed position on top of the base foot region when the manually operated cleaning device is not in use and an elongated position allowing the manually operated cleaning device to access the low clearance floor areas.

TOOL HAVING AN AUTO-ADJUSTING HANDLE
20200023508 · 2020-01-23 ·

A tool has a working member, a plurality of expansion members, and a handle that is rotatable relative to the working member. The handle has a longitudinally extending chamber in which a portion of the working member having cam surfaces is disposed. The handle also has a plurality of slots in which the plurality of expansion members are disposed. When a torque is applied to the tool, the cam surfaces of the working member cooperate with the plurality of expansion members to cause at least a portion of each of the plurality of expansion members to be moved axially and outwardly from the slots to thereby cause the handle to change from having a first cross-sectional shape to a second cross-sectional shape. At least one spring is interposed between each of the plurality of expansion members and the handle for causing the handle to revert back to the first cross-sectional shape upon a removal of the torque as applied to the tool.

TOOL WITH EXTENDIBLE HANDLE
20240109176 · 2024-04-04 ·

The application describes a tool comprising a tool head and a handle. An end of the handle is connectable to the tool head. The handle comprises a bistable reelable composite member having a first stable form in the form of an elongate slit tube in which form the member is resiliently biased and acts as a handle when connected to the tool head. When separated from the tool head, the tube can be opened out at the slit at an end and progressively coiled around an axis transverse to its length to reversibly attain a second stable form in the form of a coil. Thus, the tool can assume a compact form for storage or transportation.
